Hi all, newbie here and loving this site! I've got a question about how many plants I can grow from seed to harvest with my current setup. I've got a 2x4 tent with SF-1000 lights (here's a link to those: https://www.spider-farmer.com/products/sf-1000-led-grow-light). I know it's only rated to flower one plant, since it's pulling like 100 watts, but with the extra room I have could I make 2 work? Or, would my yields suffer to where it wouldn't make sense and I should just try to maximize one plant at a time?

Appreciate any advice I can get on this!

I put as many as i can in my 2x3 tent...i use 2 ltr pots so 6-8 plants are the usual. I don't grow for yeild, just for variety.
My main light is a MH ts1000 running 12/12 and it does well alone, typical yeilds are 1.5-2.5 oz per plant.
Healthy plants are my only goal and the payoff is always a lot to burn.

When you say your "main light" does that mean that you've got secondary lighting set up in there? That's a lot of plants! Are you doing a SOG or SCROG kind of setup for that? It looks like your MH ts1000 has about 50W more than mine, so I probably couldn't do as many as you are but I'm starting to think that I can get more than one in there for sure...maybe not in my 3 gallon fabric pots though.

Sorry, I wasn't very clear and complete with my early morning stone writing....now that I'm a later stone, perhaps I can be lil more precise.
I do run a different kind of system with my 12/12 light turn on at midnight because of heat.(Hell yes I'm asleep)...at that time the ts1000 turns on along with temp controlled fans. With input being ambient outside air, temps remain manageable til I get up a few hours later and flip on 2 autocobs...one on each side of the ts1000...at the same time, I turn on a portable ac unit dedicated to the tent to manage temps of the added cobs. The cobs are directed at autos with the ts1000 primarily over photos. Yes the cobs are only on 6-7 hours out of the 12.... Of course all bleed out of their space and all plants seem very happy and fruitful. Been doing it this way a long time with no problems and change all schedules according to season.
Being a long time grower of my own meds, I know I'm a bit different, but we all sure smoke a bunch of good weed. I just don't know why so many have so many problems with a simple weed!
I don't sog but I do top anything that may get tall...I just let them do their thing. My tent is pretty much on automatic mode but I do get to go in and sniff the panties when the need arises.

I've started 6 plants but moved 2 to another room when they started getting bigger, just to crammed.

@LloydChristmas :welcome:Welcome to AFN:welcome:. You know that is like asking how long is a rope? I could grow maybe 8 plants in solo cups or one Photo period plant in DWC and totally fill your 8 square feet. So I know that is no help. I would start with 2 autos and see how it goes.

Ah, I gotcha! This is my first go at it, so I know that practice will be my best teacher but I'm just too excited haha! Appreciate that info!

No doubt - I guess that's why I'm so confused but we'll give her a try and see how it goes, then adjust from there. Love the AFN and appreciate the welcome!

The light covers a 2x2 area for flower unless you SOG them into a 2x2 canopy one light one plant. I also use SF-1000's. You could do 2 plants and veg them under one light, then buy another before they go to flower. I'm currently using 5 SF-1000's on 3 large yield plants, (fastbuds Rhino Ryder) in a 4x4 area of my tent. They love the lights. My next grow is Fastsbud West Coast OG which is an XL yield so i'll need more space.

If you are a true newbie, I would stick to one plant. Just my two cents. Try to grow one healthy plant. Doesn't matter if you can fit 4-6 plants, if they aren't properly cared for. A tent full of sick plants on your first few grows can be deflating to the ego. And trust me, you will definitely encounter issues on your first few grows. If one isnt an option, then grow as many as you can properly care for. Kinda like a new parent asking how many kids they should adopt at once. The answer shouldn't be based on how many kids can fit in their house.
