Hey everyone at Autoflower!,

This is my very first post! :smoke: I just have a few questions I was hoping someone here could help me with. I don't plan on being in and out though ;) Well anyway.. I have a few Outdoor grows under my belt (Not being Autos), and I had one real attempt at an indoor grow. I ended up having to bail before I even made it to flower (Long story)

I have always had a green thumb and I am very interested in horticulture, but it is something that you can always become more educated in! I have heard a bit about Autoflowering strains in the past, and to me it just seemed too good to be true. I assumed it was all just a bunch of genetically mutated strains that produced a little bit of crappy bud really fast.. and was just a fad that would soon dissapear.

After doing further recent research, it turns out this is the answer for what I've been looking for! In my current situation this is my best bet, so I've decided to move foward. I have a 600 watt HPS, and I was wondering how many autoflower plants can comfortably fit under my lamp without comprimising quality? I understand a lot of factors come into play (i.e Sativa or indica dominat, light hood type and so on), but in some of your seasoned experience, what is a good number?

Also, should I use 1 or 2 gallon pots? I have a ton of questions and am very eager to learn, But I'll take it slow for now! Thanks to anybody who might have a bit of input! :smokeit:

welcome to afn... I'm sure someone will be along to assist you shortly... meanwhile have a browse through some threads... itll give you some great tips / pointers

welcome to the community..
:smokebuds:

yeah... good advice tbm.... smaller containers / spaces tend to have issues later on... better to give them the room and learn your lessons in a more forgiving environment... :toke:

just recently harvested 4 auto critical mass in 6 litre airpots with coco under a 400/600 HPS setup, could have comfortably had 6 of that size as they only took up just over a square foot of space each. Yielded just over 6 ounces off those little gals. I would say 4-6 decent sized autos, or 8-12 dwarves for your 600 mate. What size floorspace do you have to play with?

welcome bro, thai buddha man always has good advice!

Hi, I am also fairly new to this and have been doing a comparison with Air Pots to see what works best for my setup.

I took two cuttings (The Purps) and treated them the same before planting in a 10lt air pot and an 18lt container. This picture was taken just before moving them to my grow tent.

They are now within a week of the chop and the Air pot is carrying about 30% more bud.

I will post all pics and the results in a seperate thread when cut and dried.

Soil and ferts: Plagron Light Mix soil, Perlite, Bat guano, Superthrive, BioBizz Root Juice and BioBizz feeds.

Good luck with your grow and enjoy your fruits:toke:

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome! I had an idea of roughly 4-6, but better be safe than sorry!

I guess 2 gals it is. I have a decent size space, at least 6x6. I am aware though that after you lift the light above a certain height above the plants, you lose a bit of intensity. I'm not sure exactly how sensitive these babies are, but what is a good distance to keep the light away? My hood is set up for cooling to run through it, but I don't know if I will even use it.

The colder months are coming up and my grow area is not really insulated nor climate controlled, so the light might just be enough to keep the temps up for now.

Now I'm strain hunting, the most exciting part! (Before chopping those nugs off of course :smoke:)

I want to get a couple different beans.. So far I'm leaning toward; Dinafems Critical Jack, Dutch Passions Auto Blurberry, Paridise Seeds Vertigo, and I would love a Haze variety!

If anyone has any suggestions with a real nice THC%, feel free to chime in! So with a great Autoflower strain grown to its upmost potential, could the quality still match some of the big dog strains such as AK47 from Serious Seeds? Or some real good OG Kush? Or will you always be able to tell on the back of your tounge that it is an Auto?

Dutch Passion Think Different 18% THC!!!! Look for Taviddude's SCROG grow. Also mylar helps alot. Was able to triple the amount of light to some plants.

I would put my money on mi5. Just chopped my ladies the other week and tried it out yesterday. Fucking awesome smoke! Got me real high. High and motivated. Hade a big big smile on my face for 3 hours. Check it out mate! Real easy to grow aswell.
