Hi all as title says and I'm currently in week 4 of my sweet seed fast bud. She only started showing her sex on monday. Has anyone else grown this strain?
Hey man. I've never grown that strain but you should lst until it stops what would be vertical growth but will be sideways in lst. When it stops growing and just is budding then there will be no need to tie anything else down as there won't be much else to tie down.
Check out the link in my sig for a headsup on LST. If you take a gander at the OP in the link you'll see that there does come a point where we should stop.. but most importantly why. We can leave the branches we've trained in their restraints all the way through (although we rarely need to after a while) but training a plant long into flower increases the risks of a hermie and could recuce the size of the buds, too.
When vertical bud growth stops its time to remove the shackles, I am forever changing the branch positions during the first few weeks of flowering including turning the plant every other day to get the light to all available flowering branches. Think of the first few weeks of flowering (starting around week 3-4) as the time to start shaping your plant into the desired shape you want, it can be any shape you want but ideally one that takes advantage of all the available light. Some people may start earlier but I dont have a height issue I use the LST method so I can move the plant right under the light getting more light to lower branches and seeing as I am only working with 250 watts every bit of light counts.
I see you are in week 4 so do your best to open her up and expose those lower parts of the branches to the light, I don't know the strain so don't know how advanced she is but you have to be pretty rough with her to break any branches at week 4.... I would say she is still nice and supple for bending into shape so open those branches up and move her closer to the light for some lower bud goodness
Hey mano, by the looks of her I would just tie that apex bud over so it is horizontal, then let the bottom branches catch up...it is already pretty compact though...thanks for the pic btw
