I become concerned around 90f. Too much heat can make the plant take water too quickly and receive nutrient burn and or pH issues at the roots.
Edit: I didn't answer this very well. Rather I would say it depends on your humidity+temperature, medium, and strain. High heat and low humidity might cause too much water to be transpired but it's a combination of factors contributing to the overall environment.
As a beginner I agree with @Damien50 90 is pushing it. However with the right humidity and co2 levels higher temps can be tolerated. https://getpulse.co/blog/vpd some decent info here.
Hps 68 to 78* Led 78 to 85* above that and buds will tend to be more fluffy / nurfly. Above 85 CO2 can pic up the difference, but a sealed grow will be necessary to make use of that... were talking bottles or a co2 burner, an exhail bag in the corner doesn't count.
There is no issue with the weed grown here outdoor, and we stay in the 100s all fall, it's just fluffy, not dense little rocks.
My tent was up in the low 90's this summer and all my plants made it thru just fine. They drank more than usual but no worse for the wear but I am sure there are strains that won't thrive when it is that hot.
It depends on the strain/genetics.. In nature, weed grows in 95-100 degrees all the time.. Some genetics originate from hot areas.. Some strains actually thrive in higher temps..
If you ask an old school grower from like the 70's.. They'll tell you that they had no choice but to run at 95-100 without all this fancy tech we have now. They didn't seem to have an issue.
Ideal temps? 75-82f. But if you can't get that low, just make sure you have good air flow/air exchange.
