Hey..from zero degrees C up to 50 degrees C..in 6 years of acclimatation....:smokebuds:..they IS Hard

I have a friend who grows in New Mexico and she puts up camoflage netting.. she says it helps with the really hot days and she also uses a soaker hose. Her bifg problem was that the shade and soaker hose attracted the rattlers. West Texas might have the same problem.

How often do you water when it is that hot?

Every couple of hours in a high wind has been known...:D

but maily two auto-waters a day and a top up mid afternoon if they need it.

That is why I grow in Large pots..small pots dry out too quickly.

Most of August you cannot walk across the patio in bare feet and my girls bums are on that...:smokebuds:

I think that raised beds manage to stay cooler on the roots than the pots do. My pots are up on the 3rd floor and they have a roof over them so the hot part of the day sun doesn't hit them.

The ice on top of soil is a great solution for that peak hours of the day between 12am and 2pm!
