I'm gonna try out potting up. Starting with solo cups then into final. I just tried germing in a 15L pot, and didn't work out too well. Just stayed too moist, or the roots just kept growing and nothing happening above ground. Dunno. Maybe the idea behind potting up is you get more wet/dry cycles with a smaller container? I yanked it up and said "F*ck it! We'll do it live!"

yeah the problem with potting in final pots is the risk of overwatering at the begining. I have my own method to avoid that.

I soak the pots about 12 hours beforehand and put in the tent under the light to heat up and dry out. I then go in and make a hole about 1/2 inch deep and drop the seeds in. I then fill the hole with worm castings and spread a little circle around the top with where the seed is right in the middle. I then use a pressure spray can to lightly moisten that circle 2-3 times per day until germinated. Once germinated i water just that circle with the spray can every 2 days. Just enough to soak the top and for some to have ran down into the soil, not to the point of run off. I do this for first couple of weeks until pots feel light enough to properly water.

Paper towel to final container, 3 days to sprouts from start to finish this last time. I'm scared to try anything different, it's always worked.
