Harvest & Curing How do i dry my seeds?

we can put an end to this conversation quick! all you have to do is microwave your rice and your paper towel's to prevent contamination!:2cents:iuse the micro to sterilize all the time, even my peat pellets!:peace:

good call.... i microwave my rice anyway to cook ALL the moisture out... then seal in airtiht container until use..

a few grains in each seed pack and keep em dry... not a worry yet. :cough:

Good advice from Astro and JM!

Not sure if this is the right or proper Way to store seeds, but I have mine in a Tupperware container with a few of those dry packets (sometimes get in pill bottles electronics etc..) have the lid closed air tight and store in bottom of veg crisper as that is suppose to keep a low humidity... Been working for me...those packets can be found in a lot of things.. Start looking around the house, ask your local pharmacist to save them for you etc.... I'm thinking that's got to be better than using rice!?!

don't use rice its not sanitary, your best off using silica gel packs heres a few things you can find them in if you can't buy them in your local headshop
you can remove the silica balls from the packs they wont poison your seed just remember that they do strike a similar resemblance to seeds so be careful enough not to mistake.

bacon bits
beef jerky
sushi chef nori(seaweed)
or new shoes(you dont even have to buy shoes you can just go grab them or ask nicely from your shoe store)

i recomend buying the sushi chef nori because of the amount of silica you are given

been usin rice for a long time now and it works fine, never had a problem.

I dunno about all this debate. I just pick the seeds up, germinate and grow them

Thanks for the tip Astro.

I am going to try that next time.

people that store their seeds for long time or make their own in mass amount want to reduce the amount of seed lost to degradation, :)

you can get the dessicant packs on amazon really cheap if you dont want to have to scrounge and reuse old ones. I cant remember what i paid for mine but it was like 50 packets for around ten bucks.
