I suggest setting aside the silicone cover. With the units 14 mm (.55 inch) wide, 1/2-inch silicone or any other tubing fits perfectly; and from there is can be connected to most anything. I just attach it to a good hand pipe, or just use a about 6 inches length of tubing. Those seeking killer hits might want a matching water tool (such as http://www.dhgate.com/store/product/pinnacle-pro-glass-smoking-water-pipe-vaporblunt/184494946.html), or stick it in bong, etc.

Like anything, e.g., joint vs. pipe vs. vaporizer, you will learn soon enough how to get what you want from the GrassHopper. I usually just run it at top temperature; go for all moderately heavy hits. Unless you want to savor flavor or for whatever reason people start low and work up in temperatures, I see no need for lower temperatures. This goes especially for those first starting vaping, coming from combustion -- You're used to burning it up, inhaling from heat sources likely >400-500˚F hotter. And the most common reason smokers don't stay with vaping after starting is they miss the kick from smoking (the polyaromatic carcinogenic soot; carbon monoxide; the instant physiological reaction from sucking in hot toxins and particles; etc.). So, for noobies, I say crank it up and then maybe play with backing down or starting low(er).

The highest setting definitely gives you the biggest draws/hits but is noticeably hotter on the lungs. I agree, there's a technique with the draw for sure but that hot vapor air could still be unpleasant for a lot of people at that highest setting. I actually got a pretty nice pull from the lowest setting and right now finding a nice sweet spot right in the middle of the temp gauge. To each their own of course, I just think the hottest setting is a promise for a cough lol.

I've seen some pictures of guys using these in bongs, are they just fitting the mouth piece into the opening on the bong? Is there a special way you go about that, BII?

Besides just simply attaching any suitable length of 1/2-inch tubing, that or other short tubing length, if needed, combined with larger or smaller diameter tubing fitted around or inside the 1/2-inch tubing or using other adapters, you should be able to attach the GrassHopper to most any pipe, water tool, bong, etc. Anything with an 14 or 18 mm ground glass joint should be no problem, with the unit 14 mm wide, as I recall. And if you don't have or tubing doesn't work, get creative, such as use aluminum foil (fill in spaces if needed) and tape to attach it to a water pipe, tool, bong, bubbler, etc. Keep in mind, the top/screw-off end can simply remain stuck/attached to whatever you are using for cooling. You don't need that part to refill the unit.

I would recommend simply never drawing direct the from the unit, even with the lame silicone cover that is included - it just can be too hot.

Go get 'em Little Mac!

My unboxing!

Came in a small cardboard box. Not too heavy. Very discrete in terms of what's on the box.

Packaged very well, cardboard holding the actual box containing the unit inside:

There were some accessories tucked underneath the cardboard lining:

Cool little stash jar (made of glass!) for your ground up herbs and an attachment piece that I'm 100% on what it's used for.

I'm thinking this metal piece is maybe an extension for putting this into glass bongs and the like. Not 100% on that. My first impulse was "oh it's a wide mouth piece for vaping, much how Mountain Dew gave us the wide-mouth can for more extreme Dew guzzling. Now I'm not so sure on this.

This baby is slick. Looks like a big pen.

Here are additional accessories inside the black box:

The Grasshopper Vape unit came with one battery already charged and inside the unit and there is one additional battery (so two batteries total.) There's a magnetic charger (which is interesting as heck) and a silicone mouth piece.

And the magnetic charger:

Connects to a USB port but does not come with an actual plug-in for the wall, so likely will have to use your phone charger USB or possibly a computer, etc.
