Just woke up to the smiling face of my 3 year old but I'm pooped. Yes, I'm hoping they start sexing by next week. Today is day 15. They are all Fem seeds but I'm still on top of them cuz you never know. Got to be 100% sure. I'm glad you came by after helping me make a decision on the heat stress. This should be a good next few weeks and I will keep the pics coming when the fun begins. Hoping I get some beauts in there. I may LST 2 of the big bangs cuz they look like they may sky rocket on me. The ones first set of 3 is almost the size of my hand and he is shooting for the moon. This is my 2nd run of the big bangs. I did 5 over the summer here and I had 2 giants come out of them. Both got 3 1/2 feet tall and yielded me 2 ounces each. 57 grams and 63. I can tell this one is going to be like that and this other one may too. So I may have 2 giants again. Fingers crossed! Happy Growing! I think I have the same issue. What is the benefit to adding more soil. My babies are in 5 gallon tall pots but I think the soil is probably in the 4 Gallon range.

Stabilty mainly. You want as much of the bottom of the stem covered as possible. Big bangs get pretty big so if you have a lot of lower stem un supported later on when it's packing on bid weight it could start to fall over or at worse snap. I actually had to tape and support a stem that cracked on me outdoors this summer. If I add 3 more inches of soil and top it off that's alot of extra support for the stem and can eliminate a future problem down the road.

OK. My Afghan Kush Ryders do not get very big from what I hear. Probably going to take your advice and pot up to about 1-2 inches from the rim.

I did not think those pots were 20l you should have plenty of space for the bb and maybes over kill for mystics,
I had them pegged at 3g/12l tops

I fill my pots to the rim for planting as the first water will drop the level a good 1" its important to have a little lip at least 1/2" to aid watering
when you top fill roots will spring further up the stem giving a deeper root mass and roots= bigger yields it all helps

Thanks bro. There not 20 l pots of you were talking to me. There 16 inch 3 gallon pots which would be a little under 12 liters. I didn't have to room for 5 gallons which I normally use. I went with 8 smaller pots this time. I'm back filling then later today.

yeah sorry cc someone said 5g i misread it and thought it was you 3g is spot on if filled to the top and would be by pot size of choice for large auto's and this reduces the chance of the soil going sour

Once Again you were right on the nose tho:thumbs: you said 3 g 12 liter lol. Yea I use the 5 g for outdoor cause they tend to grow bigger and it worked perfectly for me over the summer. In my gallery the 2 pebbles and blue cheese were in 5s the giant was in the ground. I had the last run of bangs indoor in 5s also but I only ran 5 of them so I had the space. With 8 I lowered to the 3s to have enough room so when they spread there wings I can still get good coverage under the 600. I have some limited height. Can only get the light up to about 4 1/2 feet so if the bangs get 3+ that will only leave me a little over a foot between the tops and the light. I'm not to worried about the mystics. I've seen people grow some big ones and some real bushy ones but the average is around 2 ft so I should be fine there. Worst case senario Is a little LST for the bangs if any shoot up like my last ones did. As always thanks for the sound advice bro as usual it's greatly appreciated. I'm getting ready for football! I am going to update tomorrow with some more pics. There growing by the day but a good 48 hours and there 1st feeding you guys should be able to notice the growth better. till the update my friends. Yea after work today. Wanted atleast 48 hours between pics so we can notice a difference. There taking off now. Alot of growth everyday. There actually starting to smell now thanks for stopping by bro and there will be an update with pics tonight. Til then. Peace
