Hello AFN. This'll be my first grow. No grow room,Stealth, odor, etc not an issues and I'm pretty simple so I chose Hempy Buckets. Perlite/coco. They are both 4 gallon pots and are sitting under a 2'x4' HO t5 fixture running two daylights and two reds. They top out around 230watts and lumens are above what a "normal" t5 fixture this size would produce for units I am using general hydroponic 3 part flour. I germ one Sharkbite from shortstuff and hijack from auto last Wednesday with a 1/4" tap root emegingy Friday. I germinated using the paper towel method. I placed the little fellars in the coco about a 1/4" deep with the starter leaves appearing last night, today (Sunday) they look about 1/8" above ground now. So in total today they are 4 days old. Well update every few week or so. I know this isn't the most exciting or appealing grow but you can't get any more simpler n its my first. lol.

Good to see the cat likes the lights too *purrrr*
Good luck on your grow

Update: Sharkbite/Hijack- these girls are 5 days above ground today and do appear healthy though the steams still a little reddish/pinkish. Is that normal for a seedlings new steam? The look about an inche tall so far. I water 1-2 cups of bottle water a day only so far. Lights are 18/6. Another question. Can I pre mix my water and GH nuits n use that over the coruse of 2 week or dose it go bad after a few days? Not the greatest pictures but compared to others day 5 how we looking?

@reedroguez. Yes he dose like the lights, lol. He lives under them now. Lol

Be sure not to overwater them the're still only small plants.
As for the nutes I wouldn't keep them mixed and then stored too long (2-3 days tops) if there are organic substances in it you can usually keep it for only 24h.
I know that for one the pH will start to rise slowly when stored too long and can imagine it being bad for the chemicals in the solution too. Also in containers that let through light there can be algal or fungal growth.

Edit: Yeah I see the cat there, lol. Just watch she doesn't grow bud Woops

So these girls are 15 days above ground today and look alright I guess lol. I expected a little more height n finger leaves based on photo grows I've personally seen but then again I'm not using a control environment or growing photos. Around days 7-10 I noticed my starter leaves on the hijack were yellowing and leaves were droopy. So I let bucket dry out and fed bottle water and in 2 days she was high speed again. I've been feeding for 3 days now. about half gallon of water mix with 1/4tsp of GH nuits per 1/2 gallon and things seem good. No yellow spots, brown, dry areas etc. Only thing steams on the short stuff seem pinkish red sill and starter leaves are pretty much yellowish/green or wriked up.

I see what you mean on the starter leaves. Everything above them looks good:dunno:
Don't know what's going on there, I hope one of the experts drops in to give some good advice. Let's hope it's just a phase or something.

Thanks reed. Maybe if I asked for thread to be moved to new growers maybe it'll receive more views/replys?

You might try that. But I don't know if it'll help.
C'mon expert growers. You guys can tell if this is a deficiency or not, right?

Howdy RTR...Just a newbee here..But your gals look good to me..I wouldn't over do the water..Thats one of the most common mistakes made..And on the young seedling you don't want too much heat on them...So don't running your lights too close..Now again that is coming from a newbee..Hope a pro sounds off on your post for your info..

Happy growing and Thanks:peace:

Hey HD grower and anthropolis thanks for the advice :). Around day 7-10 the hijack looked under watered n now with both plants on a half gallon a day each they seem to be okay though its only been receiving that amount for a 3 or so days. If over watering is an issue I assume I would notice that problem by around the 3-4 day? Leaves would appear droopy? I've also started feeding 1 full tsp of each 3 part series from GH nuits for every gallon of water. The girls were getting a half tsp per gallon sense day ten. every day sense seem positive. Ands here's day 16 n they look better then yesterday. Also I noticed a more earthly plant smell on the hijack n a sweeter smell on the Sharkbite.
