How many plants you growing, what's your space?? A 40w bulb is not going to replace 800w my Telos 008 was 240 Actual wattage and replaced around 400w hps. My tent is 1.2 X 1.2 that's 15.5 sq ft I'd need at least 4 of those lights in order to fill that space and would be 160w and that would not replace 800w HPS more like 150-200w HPSWelcome !!!
I just started consuming at the end of Dec of 2018 and started growing end of Jan (or so) of 2019. I bought a couple of SANSI lights from Amazon. 40 Watt lights, which are not equivalent at all to 40 watt incandescent. more like an 800 watt (equivalent) bulb. Grew some nice Autos to start and have a photoperiod (unknown strain) now moved outside all big and bushy. I know LED measure in a different way, using PAR, but in Lumens the 2 really put out the Lumens. I'll attach link to the light and picture graph of the light spectrum. Many folks use these for other plants indoors with great success. I keep this in mind, 1000Watt bulb will burn 1000W or 1 kw and if it's on 1 hour uses 1 kw of electricity. Let's say your Kw costs are 13.9 cents or 14 cents (national average... Michigan is 16cents ) so you run 16 hours of light a day on timer. .14 x 16hrs = $2.24 / day X 30 days in month = $67.20 extra electricity consumed above and beyond what your normal electric bill is. 4 months of running 1000 W bulb 16 hours a day, will cost you an extra $268.80 of electricity to grow just the weed. I'm cheap. I use 2 X 40 Watt and that is 80W total (but actually on SANSI it is more ike 37 watts per bulb. Did I mention they are BRIGHT and full spectrum? So I try to keep electric costs in line with our budget. A good mylar grow tent that has reflective sides top and bottom will do wonders for channeling lights down thorough the plant. I would even turn the plants at least 1 time during the light hours so that different areas would be hit a little more intense.
