I'm completely new to growing and started my first grow a few weeks ago. So far I have done at least(!) two beginners fail. I have been under watering and I chose too small pots. I kinda got intimidated by the size of these plants and from what I heard, they would outgrow my intire house! lol I couldn't really picture how this would turn out so I chose a bit smaller pots than recommend.. Finding this forum, I have already learned that I actually can trim autos! So far I've only been using a little lst.
I don't have the best light either, I use a 250w cfl. My plants are strong and healthy in my opinion, but also very small. I believe (or want to believe) this is a result mostly from under watering but I really don't know.
I got all of my equipment ridiculously cheap and I want to find out what I can make of it before I upgrade anything.
So yeah, this is what I'm doing these days

heya @Sami and to afn! soundz like u got a good nuff grasp of the basicz, altho a few more detailz would be nice, and if u got a couple picz u can toss up, that'd be great u say u started a few weekz ago, but exactly how old are ur girlz & how many do u have-? what strain are they-? what size potz-? are they in a tent-?...if so, what size-? what kinda soil-? how much do u water & how often-? do u ph the water-? do u even have a ph pen-? are u feeding nutez-?...if so, what kind, how much, how often-? how many hourz of light-? are u country, pop or metal-? (ok, that last ques is optional, but i alwayz like to know, hehe :smoking

as for ur cfl, hey, plantz luv fluro & will veg great under it, and yes, they'll flower under it too, but uzually at a sacrifice in both yield & density, and that'll be the first thing u'll wanna upgrade i'd say, is ur light and yes, autoz can indeed be trimmed, trained, and/or topped, no prob, and done right, really can help to custom tailor overall size & shape...and yes, pot size = plant size, which also helpz, once u get the hang of it...make no mistake, autoz are tuff lil bitchez & can/do survive the worst that can be thrown at em...believe me, i know

anyhoo, this is a great helpful commune here, full of like-minded peepz from all over the world, who all share a common passion & can help get ya dialed in jus fine what part o' the world are u in btw-? oh, and there'z alwayz the live chat if u ever need any quickie help, or jus wanna say hey...me & a few otherz are kind of a steadfast crew in there, lol, so there'll alwayz be sumbody around to help, or jus shoot the shite anything u need, jus give a holler

......I can see @420Forever has covered everything with you lol, its all in the details and pics really....I wouldn't worry about using small pots too much either dude, some folk on here have really great results growing in just solo cups, believe it or not!!....my buddy @St. Tom is one such grower, hopefully he will see the tag, and pop a pic up of one of his solo grows.....Welcome to AFN btw lol

I love that picture with the coffee cup

I have two tiny purple Haze ladies. They are 32 days old. They live in a tent that's 80x80x160 cm, which reveals I'm situated in Europe. The pots are 9 litres and I use soil mixed with Coco coir and perlite. -about ⅓ of each. The nutrition I have is Advanced nutrition; grow, micro and bloom. I give them mostly tapwater, if anything at all apparently haha. I've been watering every other day and the pots are always light as a feather. Needless to say I water every day now, with 1ml grow supplement per litre. They get about 0.5 litre each.The light is on 24/7, and I actually have two bulbs, one for each. I have been thinking about upgrading the lights but I wanted to see how this works first, and I have to see about the next grow too because I already hindered the grow a lot on this one.
And I listen to all sorts of music. I'm in a Snoop Dogg and Chaka Kahn period now.

So yeah, did I get it all?

...haha, again everything @420Forever said really lol.....only thing I could see/say is try and keep your lower leaves off the medium if poss dude, looks like you have everything in hand...and I can't work out why you have your ties so low?...I haven't seen this technique before dude

Yeah thanks for the heads up.
About the tying, I have no idea what I'm doing man. I was advised to this and that and just tried my best..
Maybe I should just take it off?
