Been reading for what it seems like a month straight on here and i had a quick question about lighting. I have a grow tent (36-Inch x 20-Inch x 62-Inch), and im looking to use T5 lighting, as of now my funds are limited so i cannot afford a Decent LED. I was wondering what size i should go with?, ive seen many sizes and bulbs and its really confusing on what ones to get. For now i will be growing one or two plants max. Thank you in advance. Love the site.

I would go for which ever unit had highest lumen output and was able to give you the option of blue and red spectrum mix. the more light the better!

Get the biggest light you can afford. More light = More Buds.

Welcome to AFN and the New Growers forum. To really be effective you'll want to use the High Output T5s. From what I've seen most of the 3' T5HO lights are about 40 watts each. So for a tent that size you would need a minimum of 6 bulbs. I think that may end up costing more than a Blackstar 240 watt LED at $275. You may also want to consider using CFLs. Most T5HO fixtures are either 24 or 48". The 36" ones seem to mostly be used in aquariums.

Good advice Muddy gave you .If you think about the cost of an led its really not that bad if your going to put out money
on some other type of lighting.I think a good T5 4ft 6 bulb will set you back close to $2oo. What ever you choose we are here
to help.

Welcome to AFN
