Live Stoner Chat hey there

Welcome to AFN, Happy! :toke:

Sadly, I've never grown those strains, but I have done autos and photos in the same room, but it can be frustrating to say the least. You do have some options, but I wouldn't put an auto under a 12/12 cycle, their flower time is just too short. In a perfect world (I'm trying to find it, still), I'd have different rooms for autos and photos.
Lets say your autos finish, and you put the photo under 12/12 for flower. Now you have a space that is locked into 12/12, so any more autos you want to crack will have lower yields because of the short light cycle. :cuss:
2X3 is a smallish room, but doable, just remember to consider floor space before you get things going. Pot size, plant size, fan, max light height, all these things will determine how many plants you can fit.

well my idea was to see how the photos are doing. perhaps if i see they can handle 3 months veg and not get too tall (room is 5 feet high) then ill let them veg till the end.
otherwise, if i need to switch to 12/12 after 2 months of the jamaican berry grow, im hoping that since itll just be for the last 3rd of the life of the jamaican berry, that it shouldnt effect it too much being on 12/12 for its last month, since most of the plant growing is done. anyone have experience with doing that?

Yep. My last grow, I had to move some outdoor photos inside, still in veg and about 5' tall, and mix them with my autos. Even after topping and tying the heck out of them, I finally had to go 12/12.
Don't get me wrong, I still had a nice harvest. But the auto yields were smaller than expected.

how long into the grow were ur autos when u changed to 12/12?
i was hoping that since the auto jamaican berry should have most of its growth done after 2 months, that the last month on 12/12 probably wouldnt effect size so much.

im trying to understand this.
theoretically:
if you took a photo strain and an auto strain, both the same exact size and genetics (theoretically ;) )
and put them in a room together on 12/12. would they both yeild the same, or will the photo yield better than the auto, since autos do to their full potential with more light?

Hello, Happyjoy. I am new here, too. Running autos & photos gets complicated, eh? So many strains, so little space. :D

Before, when I was running indoors, I put the lites on 20/4 and would remove my photos after 12 hours to another dark closet.

Put a 3" foam strip taped around the inside of the door facing so as to cover the crack. You can use a cut bicycle innertube to make a nice crack seal for the bottom of the door, secured to the inside with takes or ?? I'm kinda paranoid, so I used to hang a "tapestry" blanket over the door to the floor to be sure no light leaks, not even a pinhole.

Then, at the beginning of light cycle, just put them back among the autos.

CAVEAT: Won't work if you have a hectic schedule, as they must be moved at the same TIME each day, so set a couple timers or it will mess you up.

Hoping maybe this might work for you.

If I remember right, the autos were about 4 weeks along, maybe 5.
In theory, I'd have to give the advantage to the photo, my assumption being it would have a longer flowering phase. It may be a wash.... maybe in your case less yield from the auto, but making up that ground with the photo
Either way, it sounds like your gonna have some fine smoke!:smokeit:
