Hey everyone I'm a noobie to this.My first grow was some good bag seed.Surprisingly the one seed was a female.I got the poor mans setup 4cfl's two daylight 120 Watt equivalent and two soft white one 120 Watt equivalent and the other 150 Watt equivalent. I used this for my bagseed project worked well and is currently drying.A simple fan and some volcanic rock stones for odor control.The shortryders I got now,2 going are a lot stinkier than the bagseed one which had very little odor.I used chick a poo organic fertilizer and mollasses to flush near the end,I did add some miracle gro shake and feed as well as miracle group moisture control potting mix. I now know there are better options thans to reading here.I have a bottle of a product called superthrive which I got at depot,not sure if it's good to use for this.I'll post some pics soon.I have the shortryders on an 18/6 schedule I've heard some say 12/12.Anyways lots of great info and people here any feedback appreciated.

Hey there. Welcome to the site! Glad to have you. You aren't able to have a custom avatar yet, just the preset choices under edit profile. Just click on setting in the top right corner and you should be able to find everything.

Hello welcome to AFN u can change all of that in the settings top right of your screen.

As for your grow start it in the new growers forum and u will get all the help u need just like i did

Welcome DK! Squid and GEB got you covered on changing stuff... I stay away from Miracle Grow as it tore up my plants in my first grow ever. Which was bagseed as well... Superthrive I have heard of but never used... Sorry I can't help you more on your with nutes and soil. I can say for certain 18/6 minimum. 12/12 is for photos. Personally I would do 20/4 as that's what I run. Autos go by the age of the plant, not light cycle so you want to get them as much light as possible.

You should do what GEB said.. Start a thread in the new grower's section. You will get all the help you could possibly need there. Welcome and best of luck Dude!!! :smokebuds:

Why do you say Poor Mans CFL set-up? I'm not rich, but I'm not poor, and I love my CFL's. They're cooler (temps) than HPS and Co, that's why I like them. Used right, they'll grow you some nice plants with some big buds. How many watts are they then exactly? Not equivalents; what does it say on the bulb?

I've grown all my plants with CFL's on 24 hrs a day till the end. With Auto's you can be quite flexible.
I love me some Chicken Poop and Molasses too! :thumbs:

Welcome to the forum DethkloK. As I read your lighting options it brought me back to my first bagseed grow with the same cfl's.. which led me to where I am today 2yrs later.. so spannered that I can barely type this post and see through the slits that were once my eyes.

Stick around and before long you'll be getting better and better results.
