New Grower Hempy style growing

I have my first hempy going and it's 12/12 from seed photo period. It's been pretty easy so far and my plant looks really good. It was slow going for the first 20 days but it just grew so much last night (day 24 i think) I couldn't believe it. I'm using a 2 1/2 gal container with perlite at the bottom and about a 60/40 coco/perlite mix. I think I didn't water enough at the start though as growth seemed extremely slow. Definitely taking off like a bat out of hell right now though! ;D So far I like hempy and I will most likely use it as my main method going forward. Unless I run into major problems down the road.

I think one of the reasons the hempy threads are old is cuz bout all that needed to be said about the hempy has been said in the those forums. Kinda like the Lucas formula.
The hempy is still going strong mainly for its ease, quietness and adaptability.
There are those growing hempy style in 16 oz cups to5 gallon buckets.
I too often wondered about why my mass of roots in the bottom NEVER got rootrot, but chalked it up to the wet/dry and me using tap city water and NOT letting it dechorinate. Yep. Tap water to jug. Mix maxi loom KISS and use.
I use a 50/50 peri lite/coco mix.
Grows the best easiest.

I think that there's not a lot of the hempy here is might also bedue to the hesitance of transplanting autos.
For me, I have found that starting a seed in a hempy such a frustrating exercise in frutality that I don't even attempt it any more
But I was trying fem regular seeds at that time
Peace

Wow that hempy sticky is an amazing resource - again best thread I read on the topic - you guessed it, on AFN :)
Thanks for all the replies everyone this is very exciting and that looks like a forest, distiller :Cool bud:
I'm guessing though hempy would not be suited to a scrog grow since you do need to tip/pick up the bucket to gauge the watering?

No
One does not pic up a hempy to gauge the water.
Ya feed every 3-4 days depending on grow area lights ect.
My old 2x 2 cab I had 4 hempys that were scrogged.
I used a long funnel I got from a auto parts store to do the routine every 3 day feedings

I did a few auto´s in hempys a few years ago. Started them in rockwool cubes and then popped them into the bucket as soon as they rooted the cube out. I really enjoyed the process, but found it too labor intensive for my style of growing (basically I´m lazy and like the buffer of soil, it lets you get away with mistakes, forgetfulness etc whereas a hydro grow doesn´t). However, when the roots hit the rez the rate of growth is unbelievable and you can almost see them growing before your eyes! :Growing:

I will do it again though because hydro buds are big buds!

Few pics from my hempy @ 67 days old. Not an autoflower but 12/12 from seed. 2.5 gal coco/perlite.

Anasazi, great looking plant. Deep green leaves.
I'm using (coco/hydroton) hempy cause I'm lazy. Pour in water, get some run off. No root rot as I do this 1-2 times per day for fresh rez.
Below 40 days 12/12 bonzai clones:

I'm a bit beyond 30 days in on my first Hempy, 2gal Hydroton/Coco KISS method with Maxibloom. Lovin it..

Took a bit better than 20 days for the roots to hit the reservoir, i was concerned about this time period with an auto.
