That is right...I used a bit more than a tablespoon in each gallon bucket. I filled half way with perlite, sprinkled osmocote and then filled the rest of the way up. I figured this was the smarter way and by the time the roots reach the the plants would be old enough and the nutes wouldn't be to much for them.There is a 7/16 drainage hole drilled 2" up from the bottom. I water until you have about a 20% run off

I have recently had to adapt my plan to just use the osmocote...recently my girls are showing a Mg deficiency.

Osmocote only last about 3 months depending on conditions or I possibly did not use enough. Well since the girls like it on the warmer side, or I did not use enough ( always err on the side of caution with the nutes)

the osmocote is gone.

I wanted to get through this grow using only osmocote to test how it would work, but not at the expense of the health of my girls!:no:

These are my 2 new additions (Purple Jems)

Same method but they are in 100% coco coir with a layer of sand on top to keep fungus gnats away!! Glad I did my home work and read up on those nasty little buggers...they love coco!!!
