Always plant the seed in the final pot as Autos are not happy with transporting [emoji3] I use Plagron Lightmix has enough nutes for 2-3 weeks and perlite already mixed.
I have transplanted with no issues, but it has to be done at the right time and properly. Disturbing the roots stresses the plant and stunts growth. That's what you dont want to happen. I use roots organics original I just add a few things to it. Definitely my favorite medium so far.
I start mine in paper towels. Let them get a good tap root.. much over a 1/4" makes it hard. I fill a solo cup or 20oz plastic cup with promix and wet with tap water ahead of time. Then when the seed is ready I poke a 1/2" deep hole an plant seed cover and gently Pat soil on top. I put an open ziplock bag down over cup and wait.
After plant comes up I remove bag for a couple hours and put it back on until I feel the plant doesn't need as much humidity.
When the leaves reach or just exceed the outside of the cup I transplant.
Water it in to get rid of any air pockets with light feed
I also run hempys used to use coco and swithed to peat perlite vermiculite mixed at equal parts fill hempy bucket with perlite past the hole about 1 inch. run your nutrient water a little high on ph I like about 6-6.5 hope that helps. for starting the plant I like rockwool cubes in a window seal once they sprout put in the hempy and water right at the base of the plant for at least first week. 2 week use light nute mix and a little hiezenburg tea.
