Hello fellows,

Im new to autoflower strains and on this forum, i bought some mephisto genetics seeds and received 7 nice seeds of the strain 4 assed monkey as freebie, i decided to grow the freebie and all the 7 seeds germinated, i have now 7 little babies 10 days old under a HPS lamp 24/0 in 25 liters pots biobizz all mix soil with some extra perlite i added in it.

I would like to ask some help please ,4AM is a quick and short strain and as i only have 7 plants in a 1.2x1.2 square meter area i would like to maximize the yield with some LST, i never did LST and i would like to ask you if there is a good tuto/how to thread in order to learn LST, i looked on the forum but did not find any sticky thread on the subject, im looking for a thread with pics, step by step kind of sort. i found a pic below on another forum, is there what i have to do with LST ? 4AM seems very quick and short so i will have very limited vegetative grow i think specially in 24/0 cycle as i read its quicker than a 20/4 cycle for example.
thank you very much fellows

Here's one I topped, let the side shoots grow then pulled them down. Holes in the side of the pot, fence wire and garden string.

I know there are AFN threads on topping but not sure about LST.

I use this tutorial. It's good. https://www.growweedeasy.com/low-stress-training-lst

I would not top those 4AM's. If they are short and fast I dont see the point in topping. Just LST. And i know lots of people have no problems with topping. And they do well with it. But it has been said certain auto strains are ok with topping and some are not and dont top until you know a strain likes it or not. Since you might not get any advice on 4AM and topping, I'd recommend not topping them.

I am relatively new to growing so learning lots as I go along. Learning by mistakes and things I tried that didn't work well. I'm trying to take more of a hands off approach now. It seems to me whenever I pull out pruning shears and cut plants their growth slows down and can be hard to get back on track.

My latest approach is LST only. I anchor the main stem with a tie at the bottom of the plant. Then I put another tie on the other side of the plant and tie it near the top and bend over the stem until it creates a level canopy. That tutorial covers how to do that. I do this around day 20 when the plant is still flexible. Then I just gently tie whatever branches shoot up taller than the others over the next couple of weeks. Works great so far. Plants are growing well and have a level canopy. And I tuck leaves to expose the buds. That's it in a nutshell.
