Help I think I have Thrips and spider mites!

What do you think? I found what looks to be spider mites on a few of my purple budda kush that are around 10 days from being cut.

you definitely have thrips and these little bastards are hard to get rid off.

I recently had the same problem and first I tried using neem oil and spraying them but they just didn't die, so my solution was to go to a chemical pesticide but I would never spray this on bud that was going to be smoked. so if I was you I would do the following:

1. If you haven't got it get some pesticide but don't spray yet

2.Harvest your purple kush as soon as you think is reasonable

3.Use the pesticide. Do a foliar spray on the young plants then do a soil soak on them to get rid of everything on the plants

4.spray down the grow space with pesticide

5.Get back to growing with no worries

your pk's look great you did a good job even with pests:High 5:

Forgot to mention the thrips will be on the purple kush buds so be careful not to re-introduce them to your grow space once you have harvested.

Good luck mate

+reps man. Thanks I think I will cut the Purple in the next 10 days. smallest autos I have grown in a large pot. They are thick as arm. Unreal how big the colas are.

Seems the thrips just showed up in the last few days.

After I cut my purple what should I bomb/spray with? Would hope that I could keep it organic and this is a grow inside so need to keep it safe for other people in the house.

If you want to keep it organic then neem oil is the only method I know of, but it didn't work for me.

I used this $T2eC16F,!)!E9s2f!GR-BR!Qk0JoU!~~60_57.jpg but its poisonous so i had to cut down all my plants with buds(leaving only babies) and then treat.

I used neem for a month and the thips were still there just less of them. I used this once and they are all gone

hmmm I think tomorrow I will go to the grow shop and get a few small tubs of lady bugs and let them loose in the tent. see if it helps.
the problem is not real bad yet just dont want it to get bad.

Grind up 4 TBS chile powder...add water (pint to quart), add a few drops of dish soap....spray 2-3x a day. Can you take out plants to shower with water? Adding the chile water to soil helps thrips quickly leave. Thoroughly wipe down grow area with diluted Clorox solution, after water spray down...put your plants back inside.

BUGSSSSS I hate them and they are a true pain..im dealing with them also i think but not thripes..I read that some organic stuff they actually like so poo lol azomax and also damascus earth and neem they work over time im told lol Im going to try some liquid ladybug see if it works..I have even tried malathion to no avail so good luck ! Let us know what works for u!:karma Cloud::vibe:

Hi Hank! :Stones slap:... sucky news about the bugs, and it's about to get a little worse- see those squiggly lines in the leaf tissue? those are leaf miners, a type of caterpillar... easy to kill though, but the thrips will be a war, not just a battle... Neem should work, pure neem is best, the derivative formulation is okay, but sometimes it just doesn't do the job,...over do it, and your may burn the leaves... I had then on my outdoor grow, and had great results using Spinosad, which is sold as a spray under several company names (got mine at Home Despot - Capt'n Jacks Dead bug); spinosad is a bacteria-made neurotoxin that only affects certain bug species; it's food safe/organic rated too....I like it for blooming plants best because unlike neem, it leaves no residue... what I saw with close observation is the thrips get sick right away, put off their feed if you will, and by next day they were toast.... thrips are highly mobile, adults can fly,... so when you treat, clean the whole area, remove debris (hiding places); eggs are laid on/in the plant, larvae feed, then drop into the soil to pupate into adults (don't eat during this process), so diatomaceous earth, or pyrethrum powder(also a neurotoxin made from chrysanthemums) on soil surface will help slam the door on reinfestation.... no lie about the war, mate.... you must deal with them like a obsessive serial killer! :X's Evil Laugh x: good luck bro'!

well I will be cutting the purple kush in the next week or a little more so I think ill just let things be and try to maintain a little with a little defense.

Then I will go in and clean it down for the new plants and treat.

I love all the help and please add if you can.
