im from south america, i ve grown weed for a couple of years, love to travel and i hear a lot of jazz, funk and reggae

im an app developer and i made an application dedicated for the people that grow weed... it helps you keep logs of your plants, give u tips and let u share your progress on a variety of forums included this one

im hoping i dont offend anyone by typing this post... if it is considered somehow spam i woudn't mind it being deleted, just wanted to announce there is a cool free alternative to tapatalk for android users now

Hey rasta. Welcome to the forum. Call me an old skeptic.. but apps on wireless devices that record details of my illegal activities? Hmmm.. makes me feel a little bit edgy to be honest. Dunno how it is over there.. but in the UK the police confiscate and check mobile phones upon arrest, so they'd use that as evidence to get a warrant to raid our houses.

I love the idea.. just don't know how safe it would be to use here.

this seems like a nice forum

about privacy we take it seriously, all the pictures taken from within the app are on a hidden folder, they dont show on the phones gallery, but im sure police will find them if they take your phone up for inspection...

i really never heard a case like that, here police barely know how to send an email... but i do trust that that could happen over a more developed country... though uk is in the second place in our user base, after usa

i do have to think if there is a feasible way to overcome your concern... if i encrypt and decrypt every picture on the go it will result in a very slow experience for users unless they have a really high end phone, still those who have it, they will experience some battery drain for so much processing going on... is not an easy one to solve for an app that works with media files

still i do have a doubt, if your device is password protected do they get access as well? or they just look at what they can?

we also implemented our own camera and stripped all gps information from the pictures, so when u upload them u dont upload where they where taken

if anyone has any other privacy concerns please dont hesitate to tell me, or better if you have an idea on how to improve the users privacy at the moment i will definately look into it

Hey rasta,

In the UK the police really are model fascists. If you get arrested for a drug offence what they do is hand your phone over to a forensic scientist who'll plug it into a device that bypasses all phone passwords and security like it wasn't there. Then they get the network provider to print off a list of all your text messages and numbers dialled/received from their server. If they suspect you of dealing they don't need a warrant to do this, they do it all while you're in the cell waiting to be processed.

Unfortunately it's pretty hard to circumvent in this country.

I see what you're saying.. you need to balance usability with security.. but I'm just one person living in a police-state masquerading as a country. Many others should be able to use it without a problem so I hope I don't sound like I'm rubbishing the idea itself.

thats what i thought... it must suck... if i apply an easy encryption someone with skills may be able to brake it... probably there in the uk they have a supercomputer to crack encryptions...

i also read about encryption apps for android, though i haven't tested any of those apps myself; you may be able to run this app along one app that encrypts the files my app produces, if you willing to try something like that i could assist you with the locations of every significant file; and if an error comes up i would try to reproduce it and solve it...

btw don't worry about bringing up doubts or concerns about it, im very open minded and there is a good chance your opinion may help me improve the app privacy
