Hey people, just wanted to say HI to all of you.

New to the board, not quite new to cannabis tho )

Anyway, 1 gramm is about 10 Euros where I live so I desided to run a small grow myself.

Got AutoXtreme and Power Plant from Dutch Passion. Just started a "quick" run of AutoXtreme while Power Plant is going to become a bonsai mom from seed.

First problem: I got T5 fluorescent lamps for mom/clone room which do not work with timers ) Shit, will need to invest a lil bit more in that. The other way is to run moms under 24/7, what do you think?

24hours of light shouldn't be a problem with your autoextreme, especially to begin with as lots of people keep their lights on 24hour to begine with (some throughout the whole grow)

Not sure about your powerplant though. I don't have vast experience with photo periods, but always assumed they need the 6 hours rest during veg.

I've read on another board that 24/7 light makes plant shorter and bushier due to difference in hormones levels caused by that much light. That's exactly what I need because I want to make bonsai moms. But maybe there's something else I don't take into account, no idea )

I don't know anything about hormones - all sounds a bit too involved for me, maybe ask one of the breeders for help there (just the basics from me ^_^)
Wouldn't it just be an idea to keep cutting your mother photoperiod down to size? (again, i've never kept a mother, but sounds like what i would try)

I think from memory, Stitch the breeder from Flash seeds runs all of his autos on 24h lights - surely so he can be confident that his autos are doing what they are supposed to. But there's nothing short about his super autos lol .. they get HUGE!

24 hours is perfectly fine for both of your plants. It will make it a little shorter and bushier and that was my exact thought when I read your post, that is what you want anyways. Put her in a smaller pot, something close to 4-5 liters to keep her small and you can take cuttings for years if you tend her regularly. I would suggest to eventually get your timer working though. It will save you money in the long run.

Thanks for your reply, a420er. The timer works, it's the light's ballast which is incompatible.
The light is 2x14 Watt so it's quite cheap. I will change the lights to compatible ones later though.

2x14 is quite low bro. I don't mean to be a downer but you are going to have a hard time with that much past seedling. Those will probably work for you for about 4 weeks in. I would suggest bumping up to HO when you have a chance.

That's just for germination and keeping the bonsai moms, not for the actual grow.
