Hey john, I know starting out can be frustrating but you need to put in your own work by doing a bunch of research first. The information you're asking for is readily available in the forums. What you're starting to do is ask people to run this grow for you. It's reading time. Here's a link to the new growers section where plenty of information is available. Pay extra attention to the sticky threads, those contain good info.
I don't bother with any covers or humidity domes mate,I wet my soil, just the first few inches deep, let it sit for a few hours so its moist and not soaking, then drop my seed in,nothing fancy.my temps range between 75-85 with the LED on
I have researched germination methods and I just want to end up with 6 plants so im thinking about planting 8 just in case some dont pop. I know its not an exact science so they could all pop or maybe a few wont who knows just want to increase chances of success
John your response to mr piggy will not increase your chances of any help and is not the vibe we promote at AFN,mr piggy is a very respected member of AFN and he only said to you what most would suggest, read up yourself as the info you wanted is available.he means well bro.yr post has been removed and I suggest you read the site rules https://www.autoflower.org/f15/site-terms-use-18.html
I use paper towels every time for 25 years... soak towel squeeze out a little water and place seed in the paper towel ...keep 73-83f...check every 6 hrs after the first 24hrs...when you see a tail remove and plant 1/2 inch deep in moist soil... they should come up 24-48 hrs later, till they come up dont dry the soil out with your 1000w er... after there up keep them 24" from that light right from the start.
I like to use seaweed solution water to prevent dampoff...
I have heard that it is best to plant autos directly in the container for which you plan to grow them from startto finish especially 5 gallon ones tomaximize growth and yield. Im just worried the paper towel method could immediatly stress the sprout even though i like that method better because it seems like it would have a better rate of germination than planting in soil. my 1000 watt hps/mh set up is dimmable down to 500 watts and that is the setting i will use for seedlings and then kick it up to 750 watts and then a 1000. I will start with mh and as soon as i see signs of flowereing i will use 1000 watt hps only and maybe 2 280 watt 11 band spectrum leds placed very low so they can add suplemental lighting for lower branches for better bud development. any thoughts??
