Hi I am new to the site and not sure If this is the right spot to post but here it goes. I am growing Glueberry Auto's In Cocoa coir, I am using canna Coco A and B at reduced rates with calmag at a reduced rate And am having major problems controlling my PH. I am using a city water supply in the water comes out at approximately 443PPM. I add my nutrients and bring the PPM up to 560 or 580 and balance out the ph at 5.5 only to come back in a few hours and find the ph above 6.3 and sometimes even higher. Anybody got anything? PS the girls are HURTING.

Welcome to the site. I'm sure someone that does coco will be along soon.

if you leaving the food out in the open air my ph often goes up and as long as your between 5.8 and 6.2 your going to be fine but your water is what bothers me that's some high ppm for starting water

@Goud S!:welcome:Welcome to AFN:welcome:

How are you testing your starting water? If you have a proper EC meter that is calibrated proper and you get a 443 PPM reading that water is not fit to grow plants depending on the elemental profile. If your water is municipal you should be able to find a water quality report online. We are interested in the Hardness section and the Sanitation section.

Normally water that high PPM will become more acidic as it aerates so the water report may shed some light here?

Pictures taken in regular light would be helpful to us as well.

I will definitely look that up...my issue is that I grew some bad ass Wedding Cake (photo period) with the same water at normal nutrient levels and the solution ALWAYS auto regulated itself to 5.5 without variation and no big ph swings. I know to expect some swings when they feed...but I'm not getting the growth one would expect and I don't think there was any major swing in town h2o configuration...any chance the low levels of notes play into it? Will try and get photos up ASAP...THX

P.S. using a Milwaukee tds meter...I believe at 0.63 conversion factor.

I don't think the water is exposed...using AUTOPOT 12gal res w cover and an aquarium power head WITHOUT aeration...thinking I'm gonna have to go R.O. just wasn't digging the expense...or hearing the wife!

yes, that's how i store mine also @Mañ'O'Green is very clued up so he's well worth listening to but I'm not sure if you maybe looked into hard water nutes but id like someone else to chime in before you bought anything also going by your last grow some plants can handle more swings i mean look at mine i normally run about 2 strains between 3 autopots and another top-fed and i always have some issues but i ran 3 of the same on my autopot res this time
