Hazy...some autopot ?'s....I'm curious about the moisture levels at various strata within the pot. My assumption is that because the pots are essentially 'wick-watered' from below, the top layer of soil is rather dry...perhaps even bone dry. Is this the case? I've often had fungus gnat issues when growing in soil/peat mixes, and one of the control methods I've come across suggests drying out the soil surface as much as possible.
Have you experienced any gnat problems? If I'm correct in my assumption that the top soil layer if fairly dry, how deep do you think you have to go into the pot B4 you reach the moist zone?
Hey Bud, it depends on the soil you're using. the TD's are in 50% light seedling compost 50% perlite. so the top of the pot is dry. about ½". also the the soil in the pot with the airdome has a lighter feel to it. and no sign of any gnats. Where as the AutoXtreme in the pot with 50% Pllagron lite 50% perlite is moist right to the surface. so to stop any problems , i just top it up with some silversand.
What are the approx dimensions of these, I am just wondering how many would fit in a 1.2m x 1.2m x 2.0m tent
see post #393 all the measurements are there. If you're going to grow TD'd in that space, i'd say two or three, four at a push. but it will be crowded.
Killer job, my friend!
...and, to open the debate on Size, namely, does it matter or does it not, this one too...
:smokebuds:
Cheers Noods. Oh size matters.. it could have been bigger.. but the def it had early on, stopped it getting to it's full potential. No such problems with the other one though. It could possbly go another two weeks.
And that was the "small" one....?????!!!!!!
Yeah insert i'm looking forwrd to see what the other brings home!!!
