Hardon's First AFN Grow - Fast Buds West Coast OG GLR SCROG

Hey all - Long time lurker, first time poster. I have been growing for as long as I can remember (which thanks to the weed is all of about five minutes). I was always a PP man until a few years ago when I had a smoke of some auto weed and discovered it was nothing like the shitty, weak, tasteless smoke the internet had me believe. I became a AF man that day and have never looked back. My favourite auto strain that I’ve grown so far would be Sweet Seeds Sweet Skunk Auto. That stuff got me stoned more than any other weed I’ve ever smoked – It was incredible! Anyway, I figured there is no better way to introduce myself to AFN than with a journal...

As you can see, there’s not a great deal to report so far with this grow. The seeds have been soaked in PH’d water for a week and got buried in the soil today. I usually only soak them for three days but I had delays with getting the tent set-up which knocked the schedule back a few days. I was originally planning on doing just two plants but since this is my first grow here, I figured I’d push the boat out and do double that. I’m still messing with the controllers to get the temps stable and need to get my humidity up now the seeds are in. The plan is the same as always – Top them and SCROG them!

Further to this thread, I will be using the GLR (Gas Lantern Routine) lighting schedule for this grow. All the info about the GLR can be found at the link.

I have always been an Advanced Nutrients and Biobizz user and have always been happy with the results. But my old stock of nutrients is a couple of years old now so I decided to have a clear out and try something new. I have read many good reports about Plant Magic so decided to invest in their entire range, with a few exceptions. I will be using Superthrive as my root mass booster (because it is awesome!) and Advanced Nutrients Overdrive as my finisher (because I bought a bottle for my last grow and have plenty left! lol)

I have to be honest and say that this is the first strain I’ve been excited about growing in a while. Recently I’ve been growing out freebie seeds I’d gathered up. Don’t get me wrong, all of them are a nice smoke (especially the Sour Diesel Auto by Dinafem IIRC) but they were strains I would never have picked if I had the choice. This West Coast OG stuff though sounds the business! Here is the best bits from the breeders sales pitch
OG... such a lot in this name: legendary genetics, which no one knows exactly who first made it available in seeds and when it happened, champion by their nature, different varieties of OG was awarded the recognition of all major world CUPs, indispensable weed from the point of view of its medical properties, which allows it to successfully fight with stress, depression, migraines and to help with bipolar disorder, ADD/ADHD...and most importantly, one of the most desirable effects for any smoker is the perfect balance of relaxation and happiness, stone and high, the power and duration of effect. What to expect from OG from FastBuds? All of the above in superlatives!

To obtain this strain, we took the true authentic OG Kush, West Coast line selection, and crossed it with our improved Ruderalis. You can taste OG Kush in all its originality, not spoilen, but rather as a diamond cut by autoflowering form.

West Coast OG is amazing in its elegance and beauty of the plant. At the initial stage of vegetative growth, it will not be as rapid gain in weight and height, accumulating all their strength capacity of the root system, but then rapidly go up to the end of the cycle, reaching a height of 1 meter.

It feels great under artificial lighting, expect up to 1.4 pounds per each light. It is quite compact, chunky plant, well prepared for cultivation via SOG and SCROG methods. Colas reach impressive sizes, especially if you provide our OG balanced feeding and drinking, and it significantly responds to any care about the plant and has a very important advantage - endure the mistakes of first-time growers.

Buds have covering with white as fluff trichomes in the last weeks of flowering, and in the end of flowering crystals become amber, as burnt sugar or as we say in LA - OG are studded by sand from the West Coast. Indeed, the number of trichomes on the buds cant be counted as sand on our beaches, and the amount of THC in them exceeds 21% as the temperature in Cali.

CBD reaches 1%, which provides the priceless value of this genetics in medical use. The smell of the West Coast OG is a freshness of wave, the wood smell of palm trees, the faint aroma of juicy citrus. Although the smell cannot be characterized as clear weedy, we recommend that when grown in indoor use carbon filters. Smoke a little tart, southern heat in your throat.

The effect begins as a wave of euphoria, the swelling in your head. The second wave brings complete relaxation, from which you cant to resist, and want to give up in it all the body. Enough to make a couple of puffs and prolonged exposure won't let you go. It should be noted that our strain do not give a side effects, such as Anxious, Dizzy, Headache, Paranoid.

California is waiting you, West Coast is waiting you West Coast OG is waiting you.
Sounds just epic!! I will try and get an update posted on every feed or at least once a week.

Thanks for dropping in!

Cheers,
Hardon

My favourite so far is #2, the last to show but the one who looks the happiest with her arms all up in the air and shit

They had a small feed with a few drops of Superthrive which will see them good for a couple of days and give the roots a kick start. I am expecting some serious root growth from these girls. I filled the seed hole with the Plant Magic Granules (which are supposedly like root black magic) and mixed a shit load of it through the soil. I'm hoping that combined with the Superthrive should see roots tails at the bottom of the pot by day 10.

I added some bowls of water and hung a few damp towels up to try and get the hudimity up. It currently sits around 52-55% RH which I am happy with. We are currently on 24/0 for the first week before we start the GLR. I've ordered up some new tube heaters as the ones I used to use have been in my shed and don't really get that warm anymore. Hopefully they'll arrive in time.

Thanks for dropping in!

Cheers,
Hardon

Good luck hitting your target dude!

Ha, I think I'll need more than luck to hit a gpw. That would be a final yield of over 14 ounces! The best I've ever managed was 11 or 12 dry but those went 110+ days. These West Coast O.G. are supposedly 60 days so I'm expecting them to be down by New Year. If I pull 2 - 2.5 from each plant, I'll be happy

Thanks for dropping in!
