guano advice Welcome

I am sorting out some Bat Guano for the first time and I'm not sure on one or two things. I have 120 Litres of soil and 1.2 Litre of guano. (The net page says 5 litres per 100litres of soil. I'm not sure on that.) (i will also be using some neutral Seedling soil on top about an inch)

Q: My question is, if I mix the 1.2 litres of Guano into my 120 Litres of soil, will that burn any seedlings?

Q: I am also thinking about adding 1 litre of Worm castings to the soil too?? Will that burn the seedlings with the Guano ????

Hi Mike...what soil are you using?

I have used both bat guano and worm castings for my seedlings. At 1.2 litres to 120 litres, the BG would comprise just 1% of your total mix, unlikely to cause any problem. My typical seedling mix would also include 10 to 20% worm castings.

You could also consider the tiered method whereby you grow the seedling in a pot inside another pot. The grow pot should have the bottom cut off and be placed within another pot of the same size. After a couple of weeks, you can remove the outer cup and transplant the seedling in situ to a larger grow pot with your soil mix. Seedlings don't need much else apart from potting compost for the first couple of weeks.

Thanks for that sound advice, the double pot method is new to me and sounds sweet. As I am only going to put a a small amount in each pot of guano and castings (with miracle grow soil and seedling compost 1.6 inch on top neat), I will just go ahead with popping the germinated seeds into the top of the soil. I expect, Extra-reasonable results with the added Guano and Castings. With all that, would i need BioBizz Bloom? I am using BioBizz Grow to get the plants going.

I would like to suggest staying away from mir gro soil.It has added nutes that cause problems when dealing with your PH.You can use the Bio Biz but only go half the reccomended dose.:smokebuds:

High N bat guano is safe upto 20%... Will not burn.
