Grow Mediums Growpito Demo Grow

:smoking: yup, I agree, that's one of the weirder manifestations of Ca defc. I see on occasion. There are similar pics at the Q&D Defc. Pic Depot from another member a while back....
As for why-- plain lack-of, lockout, oddly high demand, antagonistic uptake issues, pH hiccups... I'd need more info!

@Growpito_Aleks I think your diagnosis was correct, not disagreeing just noting the interesting pattern. Wondering if you have grown this strain before and if so have you ever noticed this pattern? The flower development looks really good and at this stage I don't think your going to have much issue. whats your projected harvets date?

Right now some of the larger clones of Mendo are starting to turn a black/purple on the fan leaves while the smaller ones aren't turning yet. Never grown this before so it was a shot in the dark but I'm thinking, haven't checked trichomes yet, but 2-3 more weeks is my guess.

I see. I had a theory that over a 6.0ph was the culprit because it's been so miniscule. Could it possibly be the LEDs though? It has been minor on the Bruce Banger and Blue Cheese but the room is constantly between 50-60% RH, 78-84f, and pH of 5.5-6.2/EC of 1.5-1.7

Here are some images of the trichomes

The heads range from clear to milky at the top of the buds. Some nice, almost black hues, colors going on with the Mendo Breath with petioles encrusted in trichs.

I'm thinking about two weeks left until harvest

Hmm, if this chart is to be believed, then 6.0 is the worst point in that range, availabilty gets better in either direction... Ca is involved in the transport of other nutrients, so it can be something of a bottleneck here. I don't have any hydro-style experience Alex, so which way to fudge the pH is better called by you, but I'm leaning more acidic, not less from 6.0... T and RH% are all good for VPD, so that's not an issue; if pH has been hanging around at 6.0-ish for extended periods then that may be in play,... Lights are always a potential exacerbating factor, depending on the sched', intensity (PPFD), and strain tolerances/demands,.... EC is pretty hearty too, maybe a touch of competitive uptake antagonism? More than one thing in play here too so perhaps no one thing is the cause,.... Is it spreading? That's the kicker for me, some hiccups and funky leaves just happen in hydro's bitchy uptake world, so some symptoms aren't worth chasing around past a point!

Perhaps this is why I read most guys who have great luck with hydro like when their reservoirs ph slightly rises over a couple days. Starting at 5.6 and adjusting after it reaches 6.4. Allowing all those things in that chart a chance to have their turn being in optimal range. Just a theory and perhaps why I still need to add calmag with new Megacrop. That plus I feed light so not full strength Mc and I always feed at 6.0 in coco and now promix which they say to run hydro ph numbers. Gonna try changing ph slightly every feed.

I let it range up to 6.2 but I can't say when it happened or if it didn't become more noticeable as time passed. My initial environmentals during the first two weeks weren't perfect though so it could have occurred early. My water source is 450ppm reading between a .4-5 so the feed strength has remained around 1.0-2

I've had a few leaves crisp from the middle out but no real issues that were worth changing though. Just making sure nothing drastic happens but the lights have a high PPFD as well. I didn't want to add CalMag as it seemed so minor and I had not encountered tip burn. Hopefully allowing the pH to swing has kept any major issues from occurring.

Appreciate the help

It is day 64 and everything is done. The mothers have turned amber enough for me while the Mendo Breath is exactly where I want it. There were no reservoir dumps or changes throughout the whole grow, only top offs and a light EC of 1.0-1.2/pH of 5.5.-6.2

I will be posting final pictures while they dry out and weight. Let me know if you have questions and thank you for following along these past two months!
