Hello all I've looked up purples and blue etc... and i know i may be a weirdo i want to grow a couple of good strains known for their color i.e. a dark purple or an abundance of orange of course in a perfect worls it would have the highest thc and yield lol but i want something that appeals to my eye Im growing indoors 4x4 dr120 tent in fox farms in 5 gal soil bags under 1 or 2 mars 300w panels any advice on strains would help and pictures are great to thanks!

Well, colors can be tricky. They can be somewhat dependent on temperature of the box or water (so with less than optimal conditions you get less striking color).

Sweet Seeds sells Dark Devil and Red Poison, two strikingly dark red/purple varieties, and the Sugar Black Rose I grew from Delicious Seeds had an abundance of orange hairs (in addition to being one fine smoke).

There's a new strain under development by a private breeder called "Pinkie Pie" that @The Elvis is currently growing out; it's not yet available for purchase by the general public yet, but it's got bright (and I mean bright) pink hairs! Keep your eyes peeled for this one if you're looking for some color to spice up your garden.

No worries, glad I could help. Don't worry, you're not a weirdo for wanting to know this; I know I've started making a list of strains to try when I get a bigger box and almost half are on there solely because "Ooooh, pretty!" was my reaction to pictures of their colorful buds.

The fact is, MOST strains you get these days are fairly potent; while some are more so than others and not all have the same effects, in the end if you smoke them you'll get good and high. When you're growing your own, the level of care you can lavish on the plants means you're probably going to get dispensary-grade bud even if you're a rank amateur (especially around here, where just an hour of browsing will give you recipes, schedules, and setups that masters have tweaked over the years, basically giving you a master's course in growing for free). If you pick all your choices based on color alone you may not get the "perfect" smoke or the strongest, but I promise you'll still get a good high, so relax and enjoy the hobby.

Thanks, have a happy 7th day of the week on the 7th day of the 7th lunar month. In the 7th year of a cycle.
May your day be filled with color and your dreams be made real with frosty purple nugs.

I guess it's not the 7th year anymore, since Sunday we've been in the first year of jubilee.
