Hey yall,

I have been trying to do micro grows for the past couple of years, and one of my biggest problems seems to be that hydro just overproduces plants to the point where a small scale hydro grow becomes very difficult.

I am currently trying some photo period plants in micro style thinking that I can flower earlier for smaller plants, but the second set of fan leaves are already attempting to breach the perimiter of the space.

I am using a 2.5L pot with leca clay + top feed, and I just don't understand why the fuckers still want to get so big |:

So I am wondering... If I grew something like red dwarf, or royal dwarf, or nirvanas blue mystic auto, could I actually expect a smaller plant? SMaller fan leaves?

Or does active hydro just give plants too much fuel for the fire and they are just gonna explode no matter the pot size/genetics?

Here is a link to my current disaster I am probably going to shut down and start over with another strain.

Hydroponic = big plants,, even in a small container..

how about topping to keep her small?

you know I figured if you want a small plant cutting off what's too much wouldn't hurt?

And as an extra it might create fat-ass cola's?

ohh wait I see your problem is they are to big sideways?

Guess kind of the same solution is cutting parts of the leaves?

You never know what you might get and could be a fun experiment no?

Yes if you get a dwarf plant you will end up with smaller plants. Hydro is good but not that good geneticly dwarf plants don't get over 2ft so if your growing right it shouldn't get over that. Look for plants that get 30-55cm
