Awaiting shipment of a 20"x36"x65" grow tent. Lighting will be 150 hps and some LED 110w what would be the simplest most cost efficient way to keep the temp ok and get proper air circulation for my newly hatched babies? Thanks in advance

Hello hello good sir. Welcome. I am part of the unspoken welcome committee here at AFN. We like people to feel welcome and understand that we are here to help you out and just be cool cats. So don't be afraid to ask anything. So....

That's almost the same size as my tent. I am waiting on the cash to get a proper fan but you'll need:
Fan, usually inline grow fans, rated at enough cfm(cubic feet per minute) for your tent. That's how much air it will move in one minute. To get your tent size you multiply all your dimensions. So 20 x 36 x 65 into feet is 1.6 x 3 x 5.4=25.92. So you're looking at 26 cubic feet. Even the smaller inline fans are rated around 80 or so cfm. Which is plenty. I believe the air needs to be exchanged once every five minutes. Someone will correct me on that if I'm wrong. Either way, a small inline fan would be plenty. You will also eventually need a good carbon filter to pull air through with that fan for smells as they will get smelly, trust me. So you have your fan and filter in your tent and a duct line running up out of the top of your tent and outside if you can. Just wanna keep it away from the intake. And for intake you can use passive air intake through flaps or openings in the bottom. Or by running another line of duct in that works too. You'll have enough pressure from the exhaust to pull fresh air into your tent. Hope this helped.

Much appreciated low cast. I really, really hope I'm not coming off as a  to the higher ups here. I swear I am not trying to up my posts or anything like that At All. I am honestly just a really friendly guy that enjoys learning and helping people. And lately I have had more time on my hands than normal(no job) :( haha. So I am on here on and off all day and for hours and hours sometimes so I see everyones new posts so I help where I feel confident that I can. Thanks dude.

Thank you so much squid. But you mentioned the fan and filter being located inside the tent? Would it be possible to have those installed outside the tent using the top outlet? Still would be a passive intake? Also thinking about pulling fresh outside air in and designing a preheat system when outside air temp is lower. So with your setup squid you control the temp easily using 150hps?

I suppose it doesn't have to be inside the tent. You could have it hooked in through a top hole, sure. As long as the air coming out is going through that filter you should be good. And yes, the passive intake will be the same either way. Outside air is good. You can just work with your fan setup speed and all to see what will keep your temps on point. I don't use HPS. I use LED and about to get T5s soon. Both are low temp low power so it's easier for my setup to keep temps good. You should be fine but that outside air-temp control idea sounds good.

Wow thanks again squid! What kind of led are you using for that space? I wanted to do my whole grow with led but was offered a hps will probably throw that in the tent.Since this is my first indoor grow I am not trying to achieve an award winning plant. I could throw more money around and make more issues easier but this is kind of intriguing to me, considering I do not smoke. Grew outdoors alot but I am trying to get a turn key indoor system together for shits and giggles. Since i am in the mechanical engineering field I can probably use a different train of thought for different issues. Like temp control/ homemade heat exchangers ect. My Friends have no idea about auto's or led lighting and do not believe I can achieve the goal I set out to achieve. I am a stubborn German American I do not quit

I would say that you should go overboard on the fan with the HPS. I have a 400 and t pumps put the heat, I started with a 125tt inline fan with a carbon filter in front, and like squid says, you will need it. it barely maintained the temps at an acceptable level with a cool tube, when I switched to an Adjust a wing, with out the cool tube, that fan could not keep up. I had to upgrade to a 150mm ruck. but now the temps are all good, and you can really feel the air moving through. Remeber that the Carbon filter and tubing will reduce your air flow. And if you put the Carbon filter outside the tent you run a greater risk of odor escape d/t leaks in the ventilation tubing. just my 2 cents
