No definitely mate. Problem is I think by the morning she will be 30cm from the cobs. I just don't know if that's too close. No experience of this so far so I'm shooting in the dark.

That's about as close as I'd be comfortable with. I had a bit more wiggle room than that. But not for long, she's growing 2" a day, with no signs of slowing down.
