Groff Labs: The Auto Blackberry Kush Experience.
One thing that I’ve come to love about DP’s autos is that they seem to handle all sort of abuse without much consequence.
I’ve done it all, topping, FIM’ing, scrogging, super-cropping, de-leafing, extreme lolipopping, coco drought stress, pot sizes, all sorts of nute regimes, weird experiments, etc, you name it…
So I decided to get back to basics, growing girls naturally without messing with them.
After my very successful (yet obviously not worth it) Gas Lantern Routine light schedule test, I decided to take things a little further.
Here is the plan;
14 Auto Blackberries. Not all at once, in groups, going for a perpetual style auto grow room. Here are the first 4 candidates. All germed and birthed under an HS1. First two weeks of life were under 24/0.
First test is to do 1 plant under the HS1 as reference. Crazy excited about this light… 20/4. I will be timelapsing this one.
This is why it took me so long to post. I retro-converted an old tent I had to fit in exactly the space left in my little room, so each had sufficient exhaust and were light proofed from each other. Groff Labs always innovating…
To the left tent, the 3 remaining girls will subject to the GLS light schedule.
What is GLS? Well, it’s the evolution of GLR. GLR is the Gas Lantern Routine, the GLS is Groff’s Light Schedule.
The idea actually comes from my visit to Spannabis and Spain in general. They do love their siestas there. It is a known fact that a quick after lunch power-nap can do wonders for general health, stamina and productivity. So I though … “hey, maybe plants would care for a siesta too!”
So I basically split my favorite light schedule in 2.
So the GLS is … (hmmm.. maybe I should trademark this one …) = 10/2/10/2
This is NOT a 20/4 vs GLS… different pheno’s, lights, spectrums, wattage and nutrients will be employed, so this could never be definite. Hope it’s fun though.
To the left, for now, 3 girls under a generic 400w COB LED, on the 10/2/10/2. I may switch and/or increase this later.
I’ll use Dutch Pro Autoflower A&B, Take Root, Multi-Total and Explode on 3 girls, one girls will receive a new (I think) nute line called Powder Feeding by Green House. It consists of just one part powder feed. They have two versions, Short Flowering and Long Flowering. Being a kush line and indica dominant, short-flowering it is.
They’re very boldly stating “all-in-one” … So I say… ok, lets do it!
Right now conditions are
20L Airpots, minimal run-to-waste
Substrate is Mapito, 50% re-used
RH: 70% +/- 5%
Temp: +27ºC (min 22º night)
Will also candidly start learning about Vapor Pressure Deficit instead of RH. Again, nothing scientific, just doodling about it. More on that later.
Next update I’ll introduce the girls individually.
