Hey growers,

I have a Grape Crinkle at day 56, but she looks far from done. I know it says 55-65 days but it's looking like 75+. Anybody have one go this long? I have 2 more strains that will be in the 75 day range and I need to dry them in my tent so kinda need them to be done around the same time. I thought I saw they can be ready at 60-65 for commercial product, but for personal grow should go 70-75. Any truth to this? Thoughts...

Yea, this time writen on seeds is blablabla. Even with ideal handling/enviroment I doubt you can harvest at time writen on package. It's competition between breeders, as soon as you understand this, better for you.

I cut a crinkle down early as 55days from sprout in a 1gal smartie I'd say if she's not ready let her go the extra time in the end you will be rewarded with some frosty goodness... If yu got a scope check her out mine came down a tad early I would have loved to let her go 65 to 70 days

Ok, good that's what I thought. I had mine in veg for 6 weeks so just finishing 2nd week of flower. She needs some more time to put on weight maybe another 3-4 weeks.

Actually, no. That's not true. There's no incentive for us to create a false harvest time - a lot of the harvest Windows we now state are between a 10 day window, but we just report when we ourselves have harvested them.
Many different factors come in to play, just use the time as a guide, and if things need to run longer or shorter. Or you like to harvest for a certain affect then that's your choice to do so.

If you grow in a bigger pot - plants will run longer - same deal for dwc
If temps are off just a couple of degrees either way, plants will run longer
If you're not growing organically and do a long flush, plants will run longer. Just a few cases in point.

And then there will always be different phenotypes when growing from seed. You could get a slightly longer running, or slightly faster running, so we'll take the average.

Cheers Mitch

I know that. But I never finish my grows before date. Ever. Plant is ripe when trichs are cloudy. Not clear. And cloudy has never been before "breeders date".

You know, I don't care if it takes longer... but as customer we all want real/honest data. All I can see in almost every description is: "real fast flowering time", "heavy yielder", "excellent for begginers", "great for training hard" etc...

EDIT: this post is not for you @mephisto, but for every breeder.

Well as I say, we just write our findings in our environment. Then that's what the forum is for - there's 100 different ways to skin a cat, and that's what happens here.

I find mephisto to be pretty honest with their harvest times.. I'm chasing my first non f up grow, so I never was even close (except sour crack) with stated harvest time, even now i Have some fast strains that will go 85+ days till harvest.. And I must say one thing, I noticed tham many people are harvesting all milky trichhomed girls..

I also find Mephisto to be pretty honest with their harvest times. Only breeder I can think of that I can safely say that about though.
At least as far as my experience goes. Your mileage may vary.
