hey, just about to start up growing again and i am thinking ill get a secret jardin tent. not sure on the size yet as im moving house and im not sure what will be handy but im thinking something around 3ftx3ft.
i already have a lumatek 600 watt digital ballast with a shitty reflector i got in a deal.
i want an air cooled reflector (or maybe a cooltube) but i have no idea on brands, quality etc as there seems to be alot of opinions out there but not much definitive side by side tests etc. what are some good air cooled reflectors?

ive been looking on greners buyer guides and they say radiant and sunspot ones are good

hxxp://www.greners.com/i/grow-lights/hoods-reflectors/brand/radiant/radiant-ac-reflector-with-6-flange.html

ill probably get this if i can find it in europe, but as i say i have no experience with hoods etc, one outdoor grow and one with t5's and cfls so far so feel free to recommend good hoods. if its worth it im willing to pay for quality.

also what are some good (online) shops around? i only know hydroponics.eu and basementlighting.co.uk.

cheers for any help

anyone? even just some good shops with a decent selection of tents hoods etc.

Hey bgrt. I don't live in Europe so no help with local shops.
http://www.plantlightinghydroponics.com/index.php and http://www.htgsupply.com/ are both pretty good sites. Especially the first one. Pretty much everything you need. I use LED so I have no experience with reflectors, sorry mate. Secret Jardin tents are cool. I have the one that HTG sells(that second site I gave you) It's nice and has a lot of good reviews. Hope I helped. Keep it up man.

Google hydroponic stores or plant grow lights, somthing local should show up so you dont have to pay for shipping.

cheers everyone. i shall check out those links, anyone order from htg shipping to uk etc? i was assuming shipping costs for a tent and hoods to here would be pretty high but maybe not(ill check now anyway). im in ireland btw.

i have googled but you cant tell if a shop is reliable etc and grow shops seem to all have really bad looking websites that make them seem dodgy except hydroponics.eu but ive heard they can be annoying to order from(probably just the minority of orders but still this is why i was asking).

shops here are rare only two or three in the country i know of and not a good selection, they had like 4 different reflectors in the main shop in the capitol none air cooled, they could probably order it in but that still means i have to travel for a few hours to collect it. i think that delivery cost would be less hassle. transport here is sh*t and expensive oh and no car so yeh delivery it has to be for anything large.

the local shop nearest me doesnt seem to do many lights or anything and again the website looks like it was made by a five year old..

thanks and keep em coming anyone with any more info, good air cooled hoods etc.

hi bgrt, in ireland also so i feel ur pain, lol. i had a bad experience with eu hydroponics so i wouldnt reccommend useing them, growshop.ie is good and delivery is as cheap as i could find it, got a few thing and everything was cool, so thats my shop for the time being, i also dont have a car now so its a pain to collect, hope this was some help:)

this is now a fill my tent with things thread.

thanks for the info ggsm, aslong as im not alone:smokebuds:
ill stay away from them unless i absolutely have to,

anyone used diamond reflectors?
hxxp://www.basementlighting.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?page=1/prod/ACDF
just wondering if its a gimmick or theyre good. i will be running a 600watt hps in a 3x3 tent most likely. just incase that matters.
i only know us brands that are supposedly good from reviews etc, harder to find any relevant brands but this sounds like it would be one of the better ones.

"The Diamond reflector puts down more light than any other horizontal lamp reflector on the market - when compared to
standard Dutch Barn type reflectors it can help to increase yields significantly."

also ive been thinking of getting a new extractor fan the one i have is noisy enough but i didnt have insulated ducting. how much difference would this make? im ok with background noise but id like to be able to have someone in the room and just assume it was a pc or other electronics not a leafblower on 12 hours a day.
i am putting it through a small carbon filter probably 6-8 inches long i just bought the smallest they had it worked well enough could still smell a bit but the grow cabinet wasnt sealed well etc.

how would these work in a tent this size, is there any point in getting new fan/filter or would insulating ducts help alot.. any other info etc. just putting together everything as i go. im gonna start some seeds next week i think in my old tank to start with t5s, im running low on supplies.

any thoughts on ozone or other ways to remove smells? i have no experience with anything like that is all but it seems really cheap if it works.

anyway any help appreciated

just getting round to ordering a tent i noticed the dr 120w its a thinner version of the 120
Dimensions DR120 WIDE I : 155€
Width: 120 cm
Depth: 60 cm
Height: 160 cm

i think this would be easier to hide in a closet if needed etc but would it be better with a single 600 watt hps than a 100x100cm tent, the next one down.
which would get better results without additional lighting etc.
cheers
