1) What have you all found so far is the best recipe for your substrate? The reason I ask, as I read through the thread it seemed that you were revising your recipes with more experience.....

2) This really may seem like a stupid question, but still not sure, so thought better to ask. Is your spawn substrate indeed the same recipe as the rest of your casing substrate?

3) Is it still best to P.C. the substrate in jars that you are going to inoculate with your L.C.?

4) What size tubs are these brother?
They are 6 quart tubs,From the Dollar General for a 1$

5) So GA6 and R.2. you just tape them up tight,and obviously tape the micro filters also, yes? What kind of tape have you guys found works best?
I fold them up with the filter in side and the rap them with masking tape in the middle and each end. Jump to 8:44 or watch it all.

GA6, Dude I am completely overwhelmed with how much time you spent, and how you answered all of my questions, and more! The videos were SO the way to go for me, as I am such a visual learner. Thank-you, does not even begin to show my gratitude for doing this. Once again, I am so glad I came back to AFN, it's the folks like you, that really go out of your way to help others.

Yea, that is what I will be using, as I bought a 50# bag of it, when Tav first told us what we needed.
Bought a bag of manure, but will just use that when I re-amend my TLO next spring for my OD grow next season. I think all I need to get now is some pickling lime, more tubs, and some of that rubberized paint. The paint seems like a lot cleaner way to go than the plastic.

In about a month I'm going to try this out.

So glad you posted this as well. That is one thing I have been thinking about, was the need for a dedicated F.C., and this certainly seems like the way to go. I know once I really get rolling on this I will continue to experiment with growing mushies.

Well fuckin shit! How to follow up!?

I'll try an answerr the questions.
Sub...coco an coffee.
600 g chunk or block of reptile bed coco to 1cup spent coffee grounds. Pretty much like the video.
Grain....
9 cups Cracked corn, 12 cups water. Rinse the shit out of the corn!!!! I use a strainer to collect the floaties then rinse again. Add 12 cups water, I just use tap, then bring to simmer. Let simmer for 20-30min. 20 seems to work great so its not all mushie. Then strain and rinse with cold tap til all the starch is gone.
Place in bag and get as much air out as possible and either tap with masking tape or heat seal. Either work well.
P.c @15 psi for 60 min.
Inoculate with 20cc chosen l.c incubate at 75-80º when 20% mix up with in 7-10 days your golden.
I mix 1:2 ratio. So three cups sub on bottom then 3c spawn then 3 cups sub. I do NOT mix up. I keep it in layers. I like that better.
Cover, I just poke holes in free lids and cover with 3m spore tape. Incubate same temps for 7-10 days.

My brother roark, your follow up was perfect. Between the two of you, it all clicks and ready to cook up and P.C my spawn jars tomorrow. It is nice, I have a stove out in my outdoor grow building, I need to chop a plant tomorrow (BlockHead photo), so after I get the spawn jars in the P.C. I can sit next to the stove, chop, and keep an eye on the P.C..:grin: Thanks again brother. I will start posting some pics. My L.C. jars seem to be quite well cultured, as they should be, I did them months ago.

I already know I am going to really get into this, just for the challenge, well maybe to enjoy some fruit.:dance2:
