So, I've been following along . . . Here's where I'm at. On 8/8 I prepped 6 bags with this recipe
15c manure
8c verm
7(ish)c coco
8c corn (cooked)
Came out to about 5.5c per bag. I inoculated with 10cc LC. After one week of no news I determined the bags were dry and injected 4/6 with 60cc sterilized water. On 8/24 3/6 bags are fully colonized (sitting at 82deg). Moved to pin at 72deg with 12 hours of light.

On 8/10 I inoculated 2 bags with 4.5c of cooked cracked corn with 30cc LC. Cooked 4.5c cracked corn in 12c water for 30min at a simmer. Bags fully colonized 8/17. No pics.
On 8/19 I prepped 10 bags with 2c substrate recipe
15c coco
3c manure
Squeeze tested with drips at light squeeze and small stream at tight squeeze.
I placed 3/4c spawn in each bag resulting in a 3:1 ratio. These bags are fully colonized on 8/24 moved to pin. Again colonized at 82deg, in a small humidity tent because it's dry as all get out here. I lost one bag to standing water in the bottom, very minimal growth.

On 8/22 I used the same substrate mixture and prepped 16 bags with 2c. Each bag received 1/2 to 3/4 cup spawn. These bags are being kept in the same conditions as noted above. At this time the bags are approximately 50% colonized.

At the same time I inoculated 3 bags 4.5c corn with 30cc (I think, didn't write it down). Lost one bag to mushiness. I assume too much water. Each bag gets massaged twice a day to prevent clumping. Bags are 100% colonized. Kept as noted above. These bags look exactly like the first two.

Notes so far. I believe that the first bags primarily failed due to low LC inoculation and high amounts of substrate. I subsequently decided to go for a lower amount of substrate in my later bags. The timeline I see on other sites are 2 weeks min for colonization. I have no idea if my local conditions are awesome or if it's the LC but I'm seeing full colonization in a week with no massaging of the bags. I don't think that if I increased my substrate that I would see slower colonization times with a 3:1 ratio of substrate to spawn. The spawn is colonizing in 3-4 days.
I just set out the 12 bags to pin last night and expect the fruiting process to take 1-2 weeks. Pinning conditions are 72deg on a closet shelf with a standard desk lamp.
A note on using the bags with the corn grain spawn. When I opened the bags to do the first transfer the corn had a greenish edge to it. At that time I tossed the second spawn bag but used the first. I had a control jar that I inoculated at the same time. When I placed that spawn in the bag the corn also developed a green tint. This tells me that something in the bag causes the mycelium to turn slightly green when it is rubbed by the bag. So, don't toss your spawn bag when the corn suddenly looks a bit off after colonizing normally and smelling like a mushroom.
