Not new to the forums but been a couple years since I've studied on here.Ive decided on mephisto and dinafem auto seeds. Using 77x77x77 tent. 3 questions..
1.What would be maximum (7)gal & (5)gal grow bags would fit while still be able to maneuver around them comfortably

2.How many HID would sufficiently lights this area? Wattage wise

3..What size exhaust/intake fan?

That's almost a 6.5x6.5 tent. You could probably fit 8-12 pots in there.

What type of HID are we talking? You need two 1000w HPS but that's a lot of heat and electricity. Or two 630w CMH that are going to reduce heat and have improved spectrum with less power needed.

LED would be the preferred choice as less heat means more light hitting your plants but this all depends on your budget.

400cfm 6" would do you fine

I was wanting to put 10 7gal grow bags with a 1000w hid. But do you think 1 would be insufficient? And I know it differs from area to area and lighting schedule, but how much of an increase in electrical bill could I expect from running (2)1000w hid?

You can run two but can you manage the heat? LED is going to be your best option especially if you DIY the fixture.

You could center 1 1000w to fully cover a 5x5 and have 1.5 ft of space all around. It isn't optimal use it the space but I don't believe yield or quality will suffer.

Seems like LED would more fit for your growth plan:smoking: generally, LED produces 1/2 heat at the same wattage, and as well as electricity.
Our SP250 is the most coolest one to use. 77x77x77 tent ≈ 6.5ft*6.5ft*6.5ft tent. 4-6 pcs will be needed, as below.

One SP250 covers a 2ft*4ft in flower, 3ft*5ft in veg. 245w per draw, equals to HPS/MH/HID: 400w


Heat problem?

SP250 is the coolest one among all Mars items.
No. 1 reason is removable driver, with 2 extra long cord, driver can be placed outside of the tent.

No. 2 reason is finned design cooling system, fulls of heat-sinks on 4 round.

Plus, it doesn't produce noise

One hid is within my budget. Which is most important right now. I'm having eye surgery in about 6months so yield and budget is most important. What could a novice grower with 10 (7)gal in this space with mephisto sativa/indica mixes in using +1) 1000w hid expect to yield

No one can determine yield for you. How you manage your Environment from lighting, temperature, humidity, genetics, medium, to Nutrients all of it will factor into final yield.

You could pull 2000g you could pull 100g but it all depends on you.
