Old Reviews Gavita?

Yea i wasnt sure i believe it still uses the reflector it just allows for you to get closer to plants they say but they do not use the bulb in any of their premade setup they all use philips eco green .....

Interesting but if it's not going to be used with an external reflector, how is the bulb going to be held horizontally as hanging vertically would cut-off light to the backside of the bulb?
It's sounds a bit too gimmicky to me personally.
If someone has a 400w HPS ballast, then I would recommend the Philips HPS-Retro CMH bulb instead.
I prefer hanging it vertically in the middle of my plants

Is that in addition to overhead lighting TBM? Interesting.....

I run their ballasts. gavita is top notch equipment, but busted philips green power bulbs because they can't handle the high frequency the ballast runs.
Their plasma is all about quality of your buds, most peeps run two hps bulbs in combination with the plasma.

Nope, I hang my HID bulbs vertically. The bottom (top of the bulb, upside down) is just a few inches above canopy, with the ladies surrounding them. I prefer it over horizontally & using a reflector

Which means more bulbs could be in the space - but a little lost floor space due to the circle under each bulb?
Got me thinking about trying it................

I just had the choice of a Gavita 600W or Lumatek 600W digitals both of them. The Lumatek was 6 euros more (wholesale) - bought the Lumatek - but not sure why. Plus!!!! It has a "Super Lumens" setting - awesome - not a clue what it does!!!

cool info to know i am wanting to start up another spot and i am going to buy a tent or build something. I only have 5 ft on the vertical and then you think of everything at the top of the tent. I am thinking of running hps but what size would be equivalent and what style of hood. Im probably only going to be running a fan and filter so i need something pretty efficient. i want to pull ~lb. Whats you guys thoughts?

Super lumens = extra power, both lumatek and gavita have it, gavita boosts 600w to 660w max.

Vertical bulbs work indeed very well, with large plants you can place two in a row vertical....

TY. The catalogue I'm using gives little description. It's arrived - just need to pick it up.
With regard to dropping multiple bulbs vertically. I guess an oblong tent - say 2M x 1M would be good with 2 x 400W maybe.
A ceramic bulb holder like those attached to a reflector is ok?
And plant rotation would be key?

Does the gavita run on your standard outlet in the states?
