How many are you using? How often do you change them? Are you running your space sealed? if not, its a waste.
in a 4x4 space you'd need to be using4-6 bags to get 900 ppm. At that cost, you could get a used co2 regulator and valve. Once you rent a tank, co2 is not that expensive and and gives proven results. What evidence do you propose supports your claim it works? Have you done a side by side control, with and without the bags?
Considering the cost, and the fact that using a proper CO2 setup can increase yield 20% or more, why waste money on these things? are you getting 20% more? 10% ? 5%........... 1% ?
A grow shop, which you would think would promote them no matter what, did a public test. They put a bag in a 2x4 tent. It was empty except for the bag and a $900 co2 meter. here's what they said, and I quote:
"
Dont waste your time on this product. We got 2 Exhale bags and stuck them in a 2x4 tent for 24 hours, all zipped up tight with no plants or anything in the tent. Just an empty tent with a CO2 controller measuring the amount of Co2 these things give off.
The Co2 never made it past 500ppm.... and that was in a tiny sealed tent, with nothing inside of it. If plants were in there, they'd probably have suffocated due to a lack of Co2."
"
what was your beginning Co2 reading before you put the bags in? LoL. Almost 500. It was at a Hydro store. All of our customers wanted to know how much they increased the PPM, so we set up a display tent to see for ourselves and to show the customers that came in. We thought that is was going to turn out to be a good product, for the growers that are on a budget and couldn't afford a Co2 controller and bottle.
The PPM of Co2 in the building was in the high 400's. We left the Exhale bags in the tent for almost 3 weeks to see if they would do anything and they never did. They may release a little Co2, but really nothing at all. Your better off talking to your plants on a daily bases. That will give them WAY more Co2 then what those bags do."
I'd love to see pics of ppm readings at various points in the canopy.
Good thing I run temp in the 80 and they do work, just not all of them. I also run my lights as close as possible during flower. So.....I guess you had a bad experience? I can throw a Co2 ppm meter in there next week to prove it to ya or I can also run 2 batches at the same time to prove they work. Your choice. I have the room and start fresh 4 plants every 16 days in individual 4x4 tents.
