A little update this morning....
I went ahead and fed the ladies 4 ounces of water (in a ring around the babies) each. They seem perfectly happy in the soil. As a matter of fact, they're about 3 shades darker green than the Dark Purple I have in a DWC bucket with them (she's about a week older than the Fast buds).
I must say, growing in the @Kindsoil is really taking the guess work out of the whole process. I think autoflowers/kind soil is a great combination for a new grower to produce their own meds in a fairly easy way!

You'll also notice different lights dry the soil at different speeds so just keep an eye on it and you'll be good.

So, after many battles with the DWC setup, I am going to try my hand with some Kind Soil (although I do have a Delicious Seeds Dark Purple in a DWC bucket currently).
Two days ago I dropped a Blackberry and a Tangie'matic into some water to soak for 24 hours, and then into Rapid Rooter plugs and into the soil. I set the 3 gallon pots up according to the directions on Kinds website. I'm using clear plastic cups as humidity domes.
My plan is to feed distilled water only for the life of the plants. Currently I'm using Walmart brand distilled water, although I did pick up an at home water distiller at a yard sale that I'm going to try using (after I test the final product).
I'll post some pics as soon as there is something to post.
My setup is a Mars II 1200 Led, 4x4 tent and a cheapo carbon filter and fan combo.

By the way, I had an @FastBuds seed fail to germinate, so I sent them a message to let them know about it. Well, lets just say they stood behind their product in a huge way, and not only replaced the seed, but hooked me up with a bunch of freebies!!!

Time for a little update. Both of these beauties popped their heads out yesterday. They look pretty healthy to me...they're definitely a darker shade of green than any of my DWC plants ever were at this stage.

Its been awhile since I've done anything in soil (over 5 years), so I'm taking a guess on how much to water these....I fed about two ounces in a ring around the seedlings (a few inches away). If anyone wants to chime in if I should be feeding more that would be greatly appreciated!

The color has to do with the nutes in your soil. Obviously kindsoil is heavy on the Nitrogen! Which is good but you don't want it too dark... Which is absolutely fine since you are only using plain water.
Oh... One thing I wanted to point out. Distilled water is good for soaking beans but I wouldn't live on it. But if I had to choose between city water with chlorine, fluoride, and god knows what else... I'd go with distilled water too!
As far as watering.. They got you covered and I can't say any more lol but after so many yrs I go by feel and eye. Mostly eye that early. Right now I have seedlings and 9 week olds and between lol so with the seedlings I just keep in mind the taproot is going to spread down in search of moisture so you're prefect. Just enough to keep it going down and out but not overwatering. Then gradually increase as it gets bigger and larger root system. By week 3 my girls in 1 gallon get 1/3 of a gallon each of feed. The reason I'm using distilled water to start with has to do with the problems I had with DWC. I kept getting some serious problems that I couldn't figure out, and I'm wondering if my water has to do with it. I'm on a well, with less than 100 ppm, ph is good....but I think something is up. If you remember, I kept having problems with my first grow (although it was fairly successful.....some of the best smoke I've ever had) and since then I had a plant up and die on me. Thats what brought me back to soil.....and I've read that other members on here (@Ripper in particular) have had success with distilled water.
My plan is to do my first grow with distilled, and next grow I'll try out my well water. I'm to a point now that I need another successful grow to produce some meds....and I think distilled water and kind soil can get me there.

Then by all means keep using the DW!! With the kind soil set up I'm thinking now it's probably PERFECT. because you're not adding anything to the soil with DW because its stripped of everything.
