Hey all,

Is this Foxtailing? It looks like it is to me but would like to hear from the experts. If it is foxtailing should I cut sooner than later so it doesn't degrade the quality too much or just let it run it's course? Top cola trichs are cloudy with 30-40% amber but the rest is mainly cloudy with a little amber but not much so I know it can go longer and it still seems like it could chunk up quite a bit. I am guessing it has a couple more weeks.

Looks like it's maybe doing it a bit. I have a strain that foxtails or reflowers two to three times. Smokes just fine for me

To me foxtailing means more bud tissue, trichomes; maybe even more yield/weight, such as if it's due to uncontrolled, tumor-like bud tissue growth. I have no problem with it, but probably like most, I'm biased (and have no real reason) to seek to avoid it. In my limited experience, it is not a cause of lower quality of high, potency, yield..etc.

But is foxtailing actually a serious negative? What is bad about it, or is it just unsightly? Does it reduce potency, yield, affect the high, or what? Some say it may be caused by 'stress' but at the end of bloom, when this usually happens, there can be good and bad stress in terms of affecting final bud development.

Thanks for the replies. Sounds like I can just let it do it's thing and hopefully get a bit more out of them then. I am sure it is from stress. Being the 1st grow I tried to take good care of them but there were lots of mistakes along the way.
