I do not know if foxtailing constitutes an plant illness. I have three different strains that are in seventh week of flower, all are foxtailing.
The GSC is really bad, foxtailing on every bud. OGK is doing it to some degree, as is GG#4. I am running 535 measured watts, quantum boards.
Lights are 24 inches from closest bud and temperatures run 77-78 F. Should I reduce the wattage on my Quantum boards.I should say that the GSC
has been foxtailing from the gitgo. It may be genetic for her. Her buds have never resembled a bud. The OGK and GG#4 are getting close to their end.
Ant help appreciated.

Whats the r/h been the entire grow?
The r/h for the month of January was 26F, February was 49F and so far this month 50.9F. Overall 42F. I started using an evaporative humidifier at the end of January, set for 40%r/h. That really contributed to the rise in r/h. Do you think I should ditch the humidifier these last weeks ?

Yes I

would, don't need it at end. The low 26r/h may have caused some foxtailing. I experienced some and figured thats what it was. Only thing that changed in my tent.

Here are some photos. The first photo is OGK with normal shaped bud with some foxtailing. The other three photos are of GSC with all foxtailing buds that resemble giant Xmas shaped masses .I hope it will ripen.

Can you clarify these numbers? When you say 26F, 49F and 50.9F are those humidity percentages or the actual temps?

I assumed those were his r/h numbers.
Yeah, it's a little confusing.. Besides genetics, heat and light stress are the main culprits of foxtailing. So depending on what the actual temps are and how close the tops are to the light, the humidity may be needed. None of the strains he mentioned are known to foxtail so Im curious about all of the temp readings and light distance.

Sorry, I meant percent (%),old age brain fart. Temperatures have been between 75F and 81F for most of the grow. Light distance has been no lower than 18 inches from top bud. When foxtailing started lights were raised to 24 inches where they remain. Should I go higher or reduce wattage. The GSC is my main concern. The OGK and GG#4 are of little concern at this point. The GSC has been a strange plant from the beginning. Its growth habit is like a shrub. it is about 15 inches tall with a trunk at least 2 inches in diameter. All plants were LST'ed. I have read that foxtailing plants may not ripen. Fact or myth.
