Day 33
Second update!
Retrained all my plants except for the massive Wipeout Express I think that one is pretty well done as far as training goes. I don't think they will grow any taller. Anyways here is two pictures, and a video.
@budlee @Frankthetank @Rebel @Dudeski @XxxAuto @Fairlynew
Also check out the way my plants are positioned and tell me if you think the way my light and plants are setup will work well? I am assuming some of the bud sites will turn upward toward the light giving me a little bit more room to move them all closer to the center of the light.
The tent looks healthy as healthy can be IMO it does not hurt to rotate plants to get a even canopy cover that is for sure @Troon
Day 40
Well I'm kinda upset about my plants today. I knew they were fading in color a while back but figured if I continued with half strength nutrients I would be alright. I have had this happen. Wrote and still manages to pull two ounces off each plant. I basically think I have a nitrogen def going on, or so it appears. I suppose I should have reacted sooner.
I also found out today that the feeding schedule on the back of the General Organics is already half strength. I read online and on the bottles that for heavy feeding plants to use 4 teaspoons if it says 2 teaspoons on the feeding schedule.
Which leads me to a question!
If the nutrient schedule lists amounts in half, does that mean if I am watering twice per week to use half strength nutrients two times, once in each water since I am watering twice per week? Cannabis is a heavy feeding plant, correct? I read today where people were using the nutrients as listed on the back every watering. I also read that organic nutrients work different than chemical nutrients.
Sorry if you are confused about what I just asked, if needed I will explain again.
Yeah, general organics box says not to ph. I think most people do fine not doing it but I'm gonna have to. I have General Hydroponics pH up/down but I can't use it with these nutrients as it will kill beneficial microbes. The Earth Juice pH up/down is organic. I always pH'd in the past but I used fox farms. I didn't my first grow, but I also didn't use nutrients either.
Hey Troon! I'm sorry I didn't get in here earlier! At this stage I agree with Fairly... They look fantastic here! Very impressive job with these plants!
To answer your question yes. Each time you feed you would feed that much. No matter how many days per week you feed.
Forgive me.. What kind of medium are you growing in? Soil? Soil less? Etc...
Imo they are deficient in potassium (K) due to your burnt tips and yellowing/spotting. That to me is late stage Potassium deficiency. Since they use it more in bud/resin/ production that would make sense why were seeing it now. If your medium has nothing in it... Like Promix, Coco, etc... I would do that double dose and feed every time. Again depending what you are growing in.. If your soil is pre ferted or anything added i would approach it more carefully.
Natures Care Organic Potting Mix(A miracle Gro/ scotts brand). I believe it may be considered soil less but not 100% sure. I am pretty sure all the yellowing had to do with my pH. In the past I have pH'd my water and this hasn't happened as soon. This is also my first run with this nutrient line, and it said not to pH water but I think most do. My next grow I am using the same setup just with 5 Gallon Fabric Pots (which are actually three gallon, but were listed as 5 ten tall, twelve wide I believe) .
I read some info about my soil and it said after 30 days they recommend using their organic nutrients because the soil only has enough nutrients to grow a plant for a about a month. When you consider I added about 10-20% perlite that would mean an even shorter period of time. By not pHIng my water it may have caused some nutrient lock out even before the soil was used up. I added nutrients at a moderate pace.
I have purchased Earth Juice Natural up/down crystals (also organic) and the General Hydroponics test kit to test the ph. The green drops/vial...
I have a digital ph meter (xpertomatic I believe) but I messed up the calibration and don't have any more buffer powders and I have never used one before so trying to calibrate it was difficult for me.
Anyways General Organics suggest that you DO NOT ph but they also suggest you use tap water and I wasn't. I started with Distilled water, then switched to filtered tap water. I've sat water out for 24 hours in an open jug (one Gallon) and I could still smell chlorine... possibly stronger than when it first came out of the tap... which I know sound odd but the smell was strong when I smelled inside the jug the next day. I will smell it again when I get home today
Oh also thanks for reading all of this, you didn't have to man. It I really do appreciate it!
Sounds like you got a handle on it! You know your set up very well. I think you know what you're doing and when you make your adjustments you'll be good to go!
Oooh Chlorine... That's no good... If you don't bubble your water as some do you can just fill your gallons and let them sit for 24 hrs at least and the chlorine will dissipate on its own. I used to have to do that in our last home... Make sure UN CAPPED so it can evaporate off!
No need to thank me! I always like to catch up when I can I just get buried sometimes... And i think you need some more traffic here. Support. I'm riding with you!
What type of filter are you using on the water? Some can mess it up but i dont remember which kind.
