So this is is going to be an interesting one - we have had the biggest overhaulin rules and regulations determining the car in years - and what has come out the back of that.
Some crazy innovation - the engineers took the same spec and came back with 10 different cars, some wildly different such as the Mercedes, and some looking stunning in my mind such as the Ferrari and Aston. Ultimately testing does not show huge amounts, but I =feel that this year we have Benz truly on the back foot with their car bouncing around like a rabbit on crack!

What you lot think of the cars - any favorites?

Hello yea should be good this year with new cars there are some intresting looking cars i think merc will have it sorted by race day dont think they will be at full beans but in couple of race weekends they will have it nailed. I hope ferrari wipe the floor with red bull and the mc looks tasty aswell i think lando is going to do well again this year i am a russel fan i think he def has a lot talent like lando not instrested in max or ham and i am rooting for yuki as i think he is a bit tasty once he calms down a bit

if the Mckaren can sort themselves out a touch more Lando will do well, Ricciardo is just far too inconsistent.

if the Mckaren can sort themselves out a touch more Lando will do well, Ricciardo is just far too inconsistent.

Yea ham is top notch and robbed last season max drove good till last race but it must feel like a hollow champ as he was gifted that last race.i think riccardo will do better this year he just not as hungry for it as lando but this year he could supprise us and be back to his winning ways i hope so for mc and no mazspin this season no loss there. i wish they would make the cars smaller thay are massive which would make them faster and more agile which would be better all round racing

Agree - they missed a trick with that, if they could become a bit more standard like the F2 the racing would be superb!

So then so then - we are at the start of the season, the last day of practice at Samir showed us that the Benz sucks balls (for now…I don’t see them being crap for long at all). What is intriguing in the Mercedes garage is the lack of pace from Hamilton, he does tend to play the car down something rotten prior to the season opener, but he looked awful yesterday, he did not look comfortable and they have yet to fix their unacceptable levels of porpoising. On the other hand, young Russel is owning it for now, he has a lot to gain from a good year against Lewis and before the start of Q1 we won’t really know but based on yesterday he is running a fair bit ahead of Hamilton kn it’s quality and long run simulations
You have the RB looking mighty - but when you have Newey on side you are going to have some clever and innovative new equipment on the car, and closely followed by the Ferrari which looks stunning!
the surprise from yesterdays running was the exceptionally quick times by Gasly who topped the timing sheets in the morning session and was not far of the pace in the afternoon running.

I think today, we will see some interesting running with all teams showing their true pace for the first time in this new era

Yes mate - just seen this sorry, F2 cars are epic, at the circuits I always get there for the earlier races, the racing there is second to non. Their focus is raw pace and it makes it stellar to watch.

The RB are up there with the Ferrari but the biggest surprise was the lack of porpoising on the merc’s as well as how bad McLaren are now after a sterling start to testing in Barcelona a few weeks back.

The story of the quali was the pace of the HaaS, after a piss poor showing for a couple of years now they sneaked in on the quiet and there is a car starting in the top ten.

it was a good qualy dont know if lec can hold vas off first lap i hope so. The merc is getting better still got a way to go yet before they get on pole but yea haas deff big improvent which is good i like gunther he makes me giggle and mag put in a banging effort should be a good mid field race today the aston looked shit again stroll is not doing that great the hulk was only a tenth off him and its his first go in it lol
