I have been reading about foliar sprays. From what I have gathered I should use about 1/4 strength of my normal nute application about once a week. I would appreciate any advice. I am at day 42 with 3 plants and day. 25 with one. I was thinking about trying it with the younger one.

I use Rock Foliage on my plants 3 times a week. There is instructions in how much to use and how long to use it when you purchase whatever spray you buy. There are a lot of choices out there just pick a good one and follow what it says on the bottle. It works great.

That's it? Hello? Man, I woulda thought there woulda been a heated discussion on this thread!!! How often is perfect? Whats too much? Strength? Molasses? Sugars? Mom's secret recipe? Raise the lamps when misting? I'm currently attempting to heal a Jock Horror and foliar misting seems to be helping along with a root inoculant and DE.

plants can't absorb sugars so a spray made of them will do nothing.

spray at first light also don't spray during flowering.

Spraying plants with molasses, sugars or anything else that would support fungal and bacterial growth, attract and be food for insects, ferment, etc. is something you definitely want to avoid. Sugars will also make the plant sticky and could clog stomata/pores, etc.

I've just concluded an extensive study on 'foliar feeding'. I resume the foliar feeding (in veg state only) immediately. Not a doubt in my noggin.
Three different sources say pretty much the same thing:

FOLIAR FEEDING
Plants can absorb both water and nutrients through their leaves, so the nutrient-water solution supplied to the roots can be misted on the foliage as well. Leaves have stomata that serve the same purpose as pores: They open and close as needed to regulate the absorption or CO2, water, and nutrients. Foliar-fed plants grow faster. It also saves fertilizer compared to soil; about 95% of the fertilizer is absorbed as compared with betyween 10 - 20% using conventional methods. Foliar feeding is especially helpful when plants are suffering from a deficiency, because the needed nutrients are delivered directly to the plant parts that need it, the leaves.

...just sayin...and NO, aint gots no shugah!

Foliar feeding is of tremendous benefit and with proper practices couple with good soil nutrition can be used throughout flowering as well. I do it on every crop up to three days before harvest then follow with three consecutive days of distilled water foliars. It works.

JM,
Studying and learning are what I'm here for...as well as to help others when I have enough knowledge and experience.

...and thanx for the link! Looks like todays agenda is set...
