Hey y’all I flushed after noticing I had some pretty high ppm on one of my plants. I had some drooping which made me check ppm and go for a flush. I’ve since brought them down to an acceptable number but I’ve got some photos for some yellow spotting that has shown up post flush. The colors weren’t there before the flush only the droop. Droop is near gone but spotting has appeared. I deff want to avoid lockout or any deficiencies or toxicity. Help a brother out! It’s only on 1 of my five plants but it’s looking systemic at this point and not just on a few leaves

amnesia haze autos
9th week, flowers for 3ish
40-50 humidity
Range from 62-75ish degrees
Fox farm ocean forest soil
Fox farm fertilizer kit
Tried to keep ph just over 6.5 when watering.

Flushed with distilled ph 7 water. But run off was lower ph at around 5.9. Wasn’t exactly sure how to adjust the ph in that one sitting other then to keep flushing more water. Also not 100% sure how it gets low like that if checking levels of the water/ fert mixes when I feed. My guess is that’s like build up and I should have flushed sooner. This is my first go round so I’m learning on the fly. It’s mostly just this one plant giving me some ups and downs

@Thedogfish :welcome:Welcome to AFN:welcome: Your plants are showing signs of a magnesium problem but that is just a symptom that can come from not enough magnesium or too much Nitrogen and or too much Potassium. FFOF is hot to start with and your plants look as if they have been overfed. If you were running a form of hydroponics flushing is a possible option. FFOF is a soil and flushing will cause as many problems as it will solve. The nutrient balance has been washed out of the pot and to regain that balance in soil takes time - longer than an auto flower will wait.

I don't have a magic bullet for your situation. Just water only for a while and see if they improve. Learn the lesson that with autos less is more.

In the meantime take a look at this thread about balanced nutrients:

:goodluck:

ffof ppm can be anywhere from 1600-1800 without ferts added. organic soil ppm isnt the same as chem fert ppm

when did u start feeding and what fert and at what rate? sounds like a combo of feed/water imbalance..either over or underwatering.

I’ve been hand mixing. Also using different product through different stages. I bought a fox farm starter kit and have been stumbling my way through. Rates have varied. I also picked up cal mag like halfway through the process and have been using that as well. It’s only on 1/5 plants I have so it’s good it’s isolated to 1. I’ll guess I’ll keep and eye on it and do the best I can. I’ll keep this one fed on mostly just water. I’ll go with the less is more approach through the rest of flowering. Not looking for perfection this time around! Just looking for some end product and to not kill my plants and waste the 2 months I’ve invested so far! I’ve been trying to sort of scale ppm based on charts I’ve seen through stages but I can’t say I’ve been super strict. Some of this stuff also sounds like rocket science to me as a beginner! I’ve got some leveling up to do! This is a lesson learned, I’ll play it safe with some less is best

Do you guys have a PPM level you recommend that chemicals don’t go over? I’ve seen so much different stuff. And am I not suppose to flush plants unless I think there’s something wrong? I was thinking that it might be time to do a flush and test on the others but if your saying it can create as more problems I guess I don’t want to touch them if there’s nothing wrong. Do you believe in a final flush before harvesting?
