Flowering auto cuttings

Curious...have you ever successfully harvested anything decent from pruned, flowering, autoflower branches...if so, did you just stuff them in a small pot of soil or what? :baked: ...for example:

That's the stuff alright......seems it puts the flowering hormones to sleep in weed and just helps put humans to sleep period. I'm thinking about trying it on some of the smaller cultivars of autos......Fastbuds come to mind for me. I get great frosty nugs but usually only a 4 to 5oz plant.....now if I extend that veg a few weeks I could grow some monsters even in soil.
Or to be able to clone for hydro runs where it's nice to have all plants the same.
How bout being able to reveg that one special auto for clones :baked:

I read further and that might not work.
Jo Mar's L-Tryptophan is 100% pure U.S.P. grade crystalline free form. The powder is not water soluble

I'll keep looking for a water soluble powder.

Did find this though.
That's the one I just bought.......here's the one he used this should be good to go.
They say "Solubility: Slightly soluble in water, mixable in cold water."

Ordered some too. Got two of my Moby Grapes that just popped in small pots that'll be good for testing. Spray one and use the other as control. That guy mentioned that it's used in tobacco industry to prevent flowering but only could find papers on cutting/pinching being done to keep flowering in line. Plenty of examples of it being used on food crop to increase yield, smell and flavor. Ingesting vs. smoking so unless I can confirm it's used on tobacco I'll be treating it like coloidial or STS and not smoking it.

I don't think there will be an issue with smoking plants treated with it. Seems it's metabolized by the plant regardless if fed through soil or foliar.
Here's some info I found "The exogenous application of L-TRP is highly significant for normal plant growth and development. L-tryptophan is applied through foliar spray, seed priming, and soil application. Soil-applied L-TRP is either directly taken up by plants or metabolized to auxin by soil microbiota and then absorbed by plant roots. Similarly, foliar spray and seed priming with L-TRP stimulates auxin synthesis within plants and improves the growth and productivity of agricultural crops. Furthermore, L-TRP contains approximately 14% nitrogen (N) in its composition, which is released upon its metabolism within a plant or in the rhizosphere and plays a role in enhancing crop productivity."
Also we will only be using it in veg anyhow.....any of it still around will have been metabolized.
I found a couple studies about it used in agriculture (which is where that quote came from) to increase yield and 1 that touched on it's use in tobacco but no details.

Some guy using L-Triptophan has successfully extended veg indefinitely and cloned autos over on icmag link. Opens a whole new world for autos.
Super interesting. Generally it's discouraged linking to other forums here I guess, but I found the icmag thread just by searching for "l-triptophan". (I thought it was spelled with a 'y'...) I'm going to keep an eye out for concrete details about dosage and application, it seems like it could be a fairly cheap experiment.

Yeah I wasn't crazy about linking there but since it was related to auto's and such a monumental deal I just couldn't not. :baked:
Got a bag of it on the way to see what's up.

I post a picture of your flowered clone on Facebook just now and I can already feel the shit show beginning to wind up. There's like an organ playing in the background with a monkey banging a set of cymbals.
And that was really without even trying, for what that's worth. I only even watered the plant directly twice, early on, then it just wicked up water from the windowbox when I bottom-fed the others or watered them to runoff. I was going to prune a branch from the 24k that had been pushed into a corner and wasn't getting much light, but I had a leftover buffered coco and a gap from moving a male out of the tent, so I decided to see if it'd root. I moved it a few times to take pictures on its own, but otherwise it completely grew itself.

Cool, please keep us posted. It sounds like you'll get to it well before I would.
