Howdy there fine folks of AFN, hope you're having a wonderful day :toke::pass:.

Let's kick off things by sharing a link of these very nice tunes I'm listening right now - setting the mood if you will :smoking::

On to business - since I've started growing cannabis I've been leaning to organic fertilizers, soils and such and some people around here know that I work with Bio Tabs nutrients . Now, with the help of my kind grobro @TheMongol (thank you very much mate) , I will try out a new line of nutrients called FLO - Florian's Living Organics - a type of superfood / living soil packed with organic-origin nutrients and beneficial microbes .

Now, I like the sound of this, right? And I had to try it of course. This grow started 60 days ago - due to real life side tracking me (being a stoner didn't help either :smoking:) I'm starting this journal a little bit late (and only after a couple of death threats from the Mon :crying:). Better late than never, eh? Enough of my crazy rambling - let's get to the growing side of things.

Setup:
  • 4x4 tent with 600 W MH/HPS combo and ventilation
  • 15 L AutoPots and a 45 L reservoir
  • FLO mixed into Guanokalong soil (organic light mix) mixed with perlite (60/40), no amendments whatsoever
Strains:
  • 1 x Sweet Seeds - Sweet Cheese
  • 1 x Sensi Seeds - Afghani [HASHTAG]#1[/HASHTAG]
  • it was supposed to be 2 x Sweet Cheese but unfortunately one of them died (due to my mistake ) and was replaced by the Afghani
  • the plants are photo-sensitive varieties - my first time growing photos :woohoo:!! Doing it because I was asked to try out FLO with photos
I'm doing 2 plants because the 5L FLO bag is enough for 2 15 L Autopots approx. - a little bit less than 1L was left over which I can top feed later if needed . Sorry for the god awful pics of the bags, it's a really nice design and the bags seem expensive, tightly sealed and the seal can be used again, like a zip bag:

I know, I know, really horrible pics :crying:.
Anyway, FLO should be prepared 1 week in advance before you pot - it should be mixed with your potting soil (light mix preferably), watered with 10% water and left to stay / "cook" for one week so that the beneficial micro life can be activated.
So, before starting germination I prepared some FLO mix for the seedlings which I will be starting in nursery pots (the seedling ratio is 1:50). This seedling mix was prepared by mixing up FLO with my Guanokalong soil, watering it a bit and putting it in a sealed container for a week - simple as that:

GERMINATION:

This is my go-to method for germinating seeds - put the seeds in a glass of lukewarm water and put it in the dark, preferably at 26-27°C. After 24 hours the seeds should sink to the bottom and open a little, after 48 hours some tap root should be showing:

After they pop like this I put them in some kind of starter cube (taproot down) and after 2 days they pop their little heads . This time I experimented with self-made nursery pots consisting of a bio-degradable cup, seedling potting mix and a starter cube:

DAY 1:

Two days after putting the seeds into the nursery pots we get this:

FLO girls on the ready .
The bottom one is having some problems but she'll be all right. And then, after she gets better, I'm gonna kill her by accident :crying:. More about that later.

Well, I think that's about it for the opening post, just the guest list is missing - sorry in advance for leaving anyone out (happens regularly ) , you're all invited to grab a seat and watch the show:

:welcome::vibes:

:woohoo:cant wait too see how they are getting on :pass:
also some bangin tunes :headbang:

[HASHTAG]#1[/HASHTAG]: flo is the shit and you will notice it!
[HASHTAG]#2[/HASHTAG]: sweet cheese is so dank! I kept my pheno cause she smells so bad lol
[HASHTAG]#3[/HASHTAG]: I'm tagging along to see how this goes! Good luck bro.

I currently have a 2l plant in the 2l contest with a 5:1 ratio of flo on the bottom, 10:1 in the middle and plain coco to start. My plant is living life and is way bigger than the plant in 2l of plain coco

Now I know I went raving at the weekend and had lots of “fun” but I seem to be having some pretty mental deja vu here!! Did you not post this last week?? It says an hour ago? I’m sure I’ve already read this?!!!

I'm in, been looking at getting some of this. I'm in dialogue with the owner, sorting some discounts on the shipping. Looks like some good stuff.

Thank you for the tag. Nice write up

Thanks for the tag/invite, mate. Yeh, I've been moving away from straight coco/perlite the past couple of grows. Working instead with Roots Organics Original, a few amendments, and 1-stop-shop nute programs like Mephisto's GBD or MegaCrop. So this test of Florian's Living Organics really interests me. Good luck. I'll be watching closely. :smoking:
P.S. I can't yet identify a source for FLO in the USA or Canada.
