Grow Room First Time Solo Grow

Thinking about putting her in darkness for 48 hours.
Does that really work, putting the plants in the dark? I know it's supposed to raise the cannabinoids in the trichomes, but is there some scientific evidence for that theory? @pop22 or @St. Tom, you guys are the myth busters here.

Good Morning All!

Today the little lady is on Day 93 from sprout and she will give her life up for my pleasure.

Thinking about putting her in darkness for 48 hours.

Enjoy @The Bedroom Gardener UK @AutoBobje @DCLXVI @St. Tom @Don't Fear the Reefer @MassMom @Suki813 @Olderfart

I think she'll be well worth the wait.

Personally I don't do the darkness thing, but it won't do any harm. I believe that even though more trichs could be created within this period, what we are after is mature trichs, (and not new created immature ones - this is why they go cloudy and amber after a while). I have done it a few times when I needed to go away over night at the end of grow, and it has never been a problem.

I've seen NO science to back this up. My opinion is it's a waste of time.

Thanks for that succinctly answer
I looked it up a while ago, but as you said I didn't find anything scientific myself, but it's always wise to ask :toke:

Good Morning All

Yesterday I chopped her and got 76 grams of wet fresh weed. She is now drying in brown bags

Nice work, depending on how wet she was on chop you could be looking at nearly an ounce of bud from your first solo. That's a real skill in itself. One that not many can match.

IMO your next goal (if solos still do it for you) is to try and repeat that success. Then you'll really know if you're on the right path.
